Description When i first saw this beast, i was blown away! But it seemed strangely familiar in a way to me..There wasnt a sign in front of it at the museum explaining it..so i had no idea what it was built for. Then one my watchers, *HotRod-302 saw it in the background of one of my pics and ID'ed it as the truck from one of the Fast and Furious movies! Thats where ive seen it! lol But ive never seen any of the movies, i just remembered it from the previews awhile back.
I have no clue if this is the actual truck, or just a replica..if its a replica, its a pretty damned good one! O.o

Thats what I thought I know there's year differences in the grills, i dunno which is which lol I can ID the year range OK, just not the exact year lol My friend who ID'ed it knew because he owns a 67, if not a 67, that same body style atleast.

the 67-72 didn't have different grilles. Or at least to my knowledge. I've seen all 5 years of that body style and haven't noticed anything different in the grilles.

Actually they did, just slight differences like where the turn signals were mounted The 72s had a completely different grill than this 67, here's a pic of a 72 [link]

okay I see the difference now. The guy must have modified the grille for the 72 I saw cuz it had the same grille as the 67.

This is the real deal, just like the 6 other real ones.
I'm a huge fan of this truck and I want to build one myself in the near futiue if I have the money.

P.S. Was this one located in the Volo Auto Museum? It's for sale for only $35.000,-

I kinda thought it had to be the real deal, I'm sure it will be tough to replicate that custom frame, with out any blue prints or plans.
35 grand aint too bad for something that's been in a movie, and had a pretty good role in it. I can tell by looking at it, there's probably more than $35,000 in it.

Nope this is in a pretty new car museum that opened year ago, in Dallas, TX. Its a great museum to see, if you're nowhere near Texas, I guarantee It'll be worth the drive to see!

Wow, Fast and the Furious, I'm not sure but I believe this might be from the 3rd movie, though I can not say fir sure because I had never seen any of the movies myself.

I haven't seen the movie either. Im pretty sure it is one of the actual ones. I compared the pic of this one, and pics the actual truck, and the details on the truck itself, and the custom frame fabrication look dead on to me. Im sure anyone making a clone of this truck wouldn't get many of the details on the frame right... unless they had the actual plans for it.

A lot of the vehicles they used in the series were one off real deals. Some were even rumored to be cars that belonged to friends of workers. This one and another one... man I would NOT have agreed to let them use it. The way they drove this truck was flat out insanity... graceful and awesome in all ways but "Yeah, what we're going to do is have it fly up behind a big rig, spin 180 while doing 60 down a windy interstate, and drive 60 MPH backwards to hook up to a moving trailer."
It was a thing of beauty, though. And they didn't kill it in the movie...

chances are its the real deal, my friend worked on the movie set and he said there werent replicas of those 2 trucks only the fake GN had multiple copies

vash68 In reply to Esoteric787 [2012-01-08 22:07:54 +0000 UTC]

Kinda what I thought, i mean the movie it was in wasnt filmed too long ago, by the looks of the custom frame its on, i doubt very many people could replicate that very easily, and still look right.
