I think old Mercy ult was a counterweight for all the ult spamming by offensive characters.
It actally mattered back then to have strategy and not just go in guns blazing.
Why use common sense when if you complain for long enough the problem will go away and you can still do same thing without learning anything from your failures. Ironically now the resurrection is even easier to abuse since you can just choose not to revive a certain player.
