The Comparison piece for the Contest.
This is for Group 1

Okay I lost the original file when I dropped my laptop.. So I had to root around my stuff to find a back up CD... let this be a lesson to you all.

Comparisons
Original: I had just graduated art school... and Illustrator was a program I had just learned to use my senior year. I had been vexel-ing before that in Photoshop (is that ironic?). My anatomy skills have never been amazing and I think you can see that in the awkward posing and the strange proportions in the face. I was also confused as how to shade in Illustrator and didn't know all the fun tricks I do now. I barely knew what tools did what and it just took time and experimenting to get into the swing of things.

New: Four years out of art school (dear lord how depressing) and four extra years of practice with Illustrator, not to mention better, faster, stronger computers/programs and new tools... Actually this version was made with Illustrator 10 lol Well, I think the anatomy is much better, the facial features are much, much clearer and well defined. The style is cleaner and bolder as well. The dress style and accessories were almost copied exactly when I redrew it. I have to say patterns don't scare the crap out of me like they used to.. hence the crazy heart lace. All in all I think you can really see the progress and how my style has evolved more than changed.
