As for camera, I will just say 1 thing: number of pixels actually matter the least.

Okay so you've basically done the eyes slighty different, which almost adds your personal twist to it without changing it too much, and you've done it traditionally rather than digitally, which is how the original character would've been drawn. It sure is a great piece of art though. 
And I agree. It really doesn't matter at all. As long as it's not blurry. And I'm gonna be honest my camera quality is awful. It's really, really bad.
