Medusa was once one of Athena's Priestesses. A virgin and faithful to her.
The God Possidon Raped Medusa in Athena's temple and for that she was punished and cursed. Twisted into the creature she became known for. And of course along comes Perseus seeking glory and the hand of yet another woman who was made to suffer due to some god's vanity...
I've always found Medusa's story to be very tragic. She was and is my favorite titan.

Yeah though in this case this is not the Medusa it is a Gorgon a medusa though from persian mythology the antique world shared many gods and monsters under different names and different stories. going with the non greek as the story is set in the more eastern parts of persia.
