Page 2 of Batman Jekyll and Hyde.On this page I had to show batman mixing some chemicals and then drinking stuff. He has his cowl down so that once he changes his silhouette will be different from if he was just a hunching over batman.
Oh Batman you're so reckless to drink that crazy brew!

Dr Jekyll decides that if he can make a serum that can seperate out the evil aspect of a person from the good, that that person could go about doing good deeds and etc without being impaired his innate evil nature, or something like that. He makes the serum and it gives him a split personality sort of a thing.

you've drawn a really beautiful page here. really strong pencil work. if I had to suggest something it would be to make more use of the lamp in the first panel, and create a stronger, more moody lighting effect.

I didnt want to push the shadows too much on this page because of all the little panels, and I feel that a ton of silhouettes, or rim lit silhouettes is sort of a cop out, I'll probably end up going back over this page in a few days and tweaking it some like I did with the first page, so I'll see what i can do with that lamp

yeah i see what you mean. it may have been a cop out of sorts...but then, would that really matter if the overall effect was better? But anyway, I'm starting to sound like a critic when in fact I love this page and am a big fan of your work....

Thanks man! I think if I hadnt used a bunch of silhouttes on page 3 i might have done more on this page. I try to think that if i was a fan reading the book what would i rather see and take it from there. Thanks for your kind words and feel free to let me know what you think of the next batch of pages

I am trying to get work as a penciller so mostly just pencil unless I am forced to finish them. These may get finished, not sure yet.

I guess I shouldn't say lots of silhouettes its a cop out so much as a tool i want to be careful I don't over use, I think excessive use of it is a cop out would be more accurate. My next page will have 4 silhouettes on it, but thats what Joe wanted and he knows better than I.
