Very nice picture. Sad she's having to beg and I do hate that we have a lot of jerks here in Milano that don't even give money to people like that.

the scene is so moving, i love it, especially the way you have combined her plain and simple nature with the chaos of the city behind her. You have captured the truth of the scene so perfectly, her pain and suffering contrasted by the indifference of the populus, and the fact that it is all happening right befor the cathedral shows her reliance on God to provide, even when nobody else seems to care. In this you have captured the faith of an old woman in the midst of the uncaring society as she turned to the Lord to provide. This is simply amazing.

Wow. What an amazing compliment.
Sorry for the late reply, but I have been pre-occupied with life! Now I'm in the mood to post some of the photos I've taken!
Thanks WolfBoySeven!

her hands look so young, her purse so new, and it's oddly contradictory to her pose. I wish you could have translates the rest of her note.

I wish I had approached her and just asked. Although, if the suspicion is true, I doubt she'd admit to it...

oh, it's simple, the verb form is similar...
"I'm a pepperoni pizza" --> "io sono una pizza coi peperoni"
"they're the eggmen" ---> "loro sono gli uomini-uovo"
i'm sorry for idiot guys, you know, idiot are everywere, in our country we say "la mamma degli imbecilli รจ sempre incinta" --> "dickhead's mom is allways pregnant"...
