Yeah,since they don't seems to have police (Real police,not army or royal guards like in Canterlot or Cristal Empire),computers,phones and all this modern stuff (Aaaand,in the officials comics,the Changelings are living like some sort of insect colony),so maybe they're much more strict.Like,they're an insect-pony hybrid predator.In the insects colony,every soldiers must be the same,and obey at the orders.If it's really that Changeling Scout Daring Do,he was probably a troublemaker for liking ponies things,no?

Given how collectivist changelings are, due to their insect like nature; I would hypothesize that they become more stressed when separated from what a changeling identifies as their hive, thus the increased stress would cause theΒ ostracizedΒ to be more prone to illness and death. Much like why you cannot house a schooling fish alone such as Neon Tetras.
