Tada!
Normally, I would wait till I drew something suitable for New Years before making one of these, but honestly, I don't think I'll have the time sadly.

I think what I'll do is talk a little about each piece and how I feel about the improvement, if any, in my art.

Basically, my main goal this year was to draw a few more dragons. Since last year I was more MHA focused. I also wanted to get the hang of some of my dragon OC's new designs. Flame's had some rather simple edits to him. His colors are FAR less bright because he used to be a bright ass red, so I muted it a little. Hopefully soon I can make new refs of my babies so I can get new pics made, and maybe commission some work of them.

So, the My Hero Academia Amino I'm a member of was having a Valentines Day event thing. Basically, there was a list of prompts for the month of February for the day leading up to Valentines Day. One of the prompts was "Spirit Animal", and you bet your sweet asses I was gunna draw a Dragon! So I drew my MHA OC, Riley, in her Eastern Dragon form with Sero on her nose.

It's around this time that me and my hubby became friends with a co-worker of ours named, Kyra. And, as someone who is pretty skeptical and nervous around strangers, you can image how much better I felt about her when I found out she was not just an artist, but a fellow Furry as well! One of her characters was just so intriguing to me, that I just HAD to draw him! She loved it, and since then she's been livening with us to help us through the finical issue we where in. And partly since her car is currently still stuck at our house! XD

Is it sad that I don't really remember much about this month? I think so, especially since it's the month I was born. You'd think I would at least remember doing something for my Birthday, but....nope. I can't say I did much. I was trying to get better at drawing faces at different angle's, and I think I did pretty good there. However, Kendo's hair is a BITCH to draw! But I still love her!

I had tried a new shading technique with the hair that ended up working beautifully. But, funny enough, I haven't used that way of shading since that image, so it's kinda pointless! XD Still though, I like how this was the Third Speed paint that I uploaded on my YouTube channel this year! Which is a pretty big deal since I've pretty much abandoned it for a while.

I honestly need to do more YCH's, They are a lot of fun, and can really be a nice way of getting out of an art rut. They can also make you a little money along the way, so that's a nice plus! Also, I was experimenting with the marker tool that I use for making hair details, and seeing if I couldn't use it for feathers too. Well, it turns out I can, but it's REALLY difficult!

I think we all know what happened here! The Spyro hype was in full swing and everyone and their mother had the Purple Dragon Fever! Honestly, it was a moment that I had been waiting for my whole life. I mean it, when I say this game made me who I am today, I truly mean it. I honestly don't know where I'd be right now if I hadn't played that game! It inspired me to create and gave me hope of one day creating dragon characters that would one day be recognized and loved! And guess what, it's happened. I've had folks see my characters and recognized them! I've made a small name for myself as a Dragon Artist, I'm not nearly as big as some in the community, But I wont stop trying! And I have that little purple dragon to thank for all of that. And so, as I type this out with tears welling in my eyes, I wanna thank you so much Spyro!

After the Spyro craze, I started making some Spyro themed adopts based off of my favorite levels in the game! My bestie bought the one I based of Fireworks Factory and named him Raja! And I love this beautiful and majestic Sky noodle! So, you guys can defiantly look forward to seeing more of him in the future! Also, it was round this same time where I learned a sneaky little trick for dragon scales more quickly. ;3

Technically I drew the original pencil sketch for this back in May, you know...for MerMay. But I ended up redrawing it digitally and then did a poll on Amino to see which of my old sketches the folks wanted to see be made into a more finished picture. And this one won by a landslide! I was really proud of it at first, but then after uploading it, I noticed some pretty annoying mistakes in it.

This month was easily my busiest! I had gotten so many commissions that it was almost too much! But I pulled through, and when I finally finished them, I decided to take a little break from commissions, so that I could do some more personal work. This on was an experiment all together! I had just found a few layer mode that allowed me to make the background just a bit burry so that the characters could still be in focus. I also tried a softer Cell Shading style that I've seen other artists be able to pull off beautifully. And for the most part I'm pleased with the result, though I wish I had a bit more guidance in Cell Shading, since I'm really lacking in it.

Slowly but surely, I'm getting better with backgrounds. I'm certainly no Bob Ross in anyway, but I'm definitely leagues above what I was when I was just beginning. And I hope to continue my improvement. Also, I MAY consider doing more Art Trades in the future, but it all just depends on how busy I am at the time.

I think ending off the year on this one is pretty fitting in a way. I feel like this whole year, or at least a good majority of it, I was only doing art that I thought OTHERS would like or was doing Commissions. But I rarely did my own thing. So, I think my New Years Art resolution is to have more "Me Time" when it comes to art. It's unhealthy to not do something for yourself once in a while, and it can really make you resent doing what you love. And I don't want that! I wanna be happy with what I create! Not that I didn't enjoy making this piece unparticular, but there where times this year where I was doing something for someone else, and I just felt so drained that after the picture was completed, I hated the result. But, I'm gunna change that!

Anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed this! And if you read though that whole thing, here's a cookie!
Let me know if you guys see any improvement in my work, and if you would be so kind as to maybe give me some tips or hint's on what I could work on next, that would be fantastic!
