Yeah, I couldn't leave D.W. and Emily un-patched so this is the real 'ending' to the arc. See you next week
With this arc done I feel like D.W.'s character is in a pretty good place, closure-wise - so I'm thinking now might be a good time to finally get around to making those strips about extended cast that people have been clamoring about, should be neat

I'm not sure what you're saying
'Cancerous' as a general adjective can mean "Growing or spreading rapidly to the point of harm." In other words, Emily is saying that the fact that D.W.'s personality "grows on you" over time (which IS something that the malignant tumors commonly associated with some Cancers will do) is NOT a good thing like D.W. was inferring it is.
Or maybe you're making joke and I just missed it? Sorry, I have a hard time telling these things

Joke...The joke is that Cancer doesn't infect other people, But HIV does.

The funny thing is that despite Emily's protest, what DW said makes perfect sense. She and James both recognize that they like each other but they also both know that neither they or the other person are quite ready to take the next step. It's actually a quite healthy place to be.
