Yes, I know that Mrs. Powers was the same tone as Brain and Mr. Powers initially, so I guess I can't really complain...but the first time I remember seeing her she looked like she did in the last panel - and she stayed that way for a long time. I never found out why the changed her in the first place OR why they reverted it.

I never thought of race as something that should matter all that much in animal/anthro cartoons; I thought part of the reason why some shows did was to make the "we're all more alike than different" message that much clearer (but also, if we're being real, so they can dub/sell the show in almost any territory while allowing kids to still identify with the characters while avoiding the foreign networks being "offended" )

...but on the other side of it, don't you also want to teach kids that differing cultures and backgrounds shouldn't keep you from identifying/empathizing with others? So...

I not actually "mad" or anything - that's just how my nostalgia works; if something changes and I don't know/understand why then I wanna whine about it a little.

p.s.
I don't imagine Mrs. Powers is going to have a huge role in "Elwood", so I'm actually undecided on what tone to go with, myself.
