Ripples of Serenity

Ripples of serenity just cascading over my heart.
Gentle waves of the sacred pond lapping at my feet.

I curl my toes in the soft, sinking mud in sheer, blissful peace.
My eyes behold a scene worth a thousand breaths.

A golden-brown carpet of fallen & fading leaves that dive and then peep.
Floating on the velvety sheen of a water rich and deep.
Caressing the bobbing visage of a beautiful little boat.
Like a bunch of guardian brothers escorting a fond sister.

The warm, scented wind sighing through the dense, murmuring woods.
Dappling sunlight glancing off tree boughs, causing ripples to shimmer and shine.
Birds chirping and flitting across a lush canopy, singing lustily with abandon and joy.
A wet whispering breeze wafting across the water just to soothe my soul.

I have chanced upon a sacred grove hidden in a secluded little valley.
An oasis of sunshine & spring in a land of harsh winter & strife.
I cast away my fears & worries, and let my gleeful heart follow its new desire.

The little boat glides across the tepid waters safely like an ancient mariner.
Green reeds rustle and beckon me towards the little island just yonder.
I row past an enigmatic statue that awes me with majesty and wonder.
Colorful butterflies flutter around my boat like little urchins guiding a new tourist.

Beyond the isle lies the portico of a quaint little manor abode.
My boat lurches and stays; like it always belonged to the stone jetty I gently step upon.
Was the boat waiting for ages just to welcome me here, I now ponder.

A soft, swinging lantern is a waysign, enlightening me across the grassy, cobbled pathway.
The beautiful flowers in the shrubbery are in full bloom; glowing and swaying in the breeze.

I feel as if I hear some fleeting, soft, intangible songs of welcoming joy.
From the twinkling torchbugs and fluttering butterflies as they usher me by.
As I open the door and my heart softly to my new haven & home; life is telling me to enjoy.
