I've been wanting to do a portrait for a while now, so I decided on making this young handsome brave. I tried long hair on him but it just didn't quite have the right impact. His friend the crow reminds me of the crows that have been in my life.Created with Poser and Photoshop.

I love crows and I love this beautiful portrait. The lighting works perfectly with him, his regalia and the crow. Nice DOF also.

Well, for one, I've always had a fascination with crows, and my first encounter was on the beach, a friend and I were sunning belly down on the sand, and there was a crow nearby that seemed to be looking at me. So I told my friend, "I'm going to catch that crow, watch" And of course she laughed and said, "Yeah, right, you're full of it". I smiled, and started talking to the crow mentally, and he actually came closer, then pretended to be interested in a few tiny items along his path, picking them up here and there, tossing them aside. And when he was about 3 feet from me, I locked on to his gaze, and he just walked right over to me, and I picked him up, while still on my belly. My friend freaked out, and was shocked. And I could only smile, but noticed there was a second crow flying above that started to have a hissy fit about my capture. I gave him a soft pat on the head then released him and he immediately flew off with his friend. Ever since that day, I've seen various crows that wandered into my life like this, that was the first one though. Even I didn't really know what to make of it, it was a wild animal, but I created a bond.

Aww thank you for your kind words. I have always had a special connection with animals, when I had my grooming shop several years back, a few of my customers used to call me Doctor Doolittle LOL.
