Wow, you really have a detailed talent when it comes to horses Vee. Beautiful pose & concept my dear. And again, love your folage work. I also love the white on the horse, it brings the animal right out at you, lovely work!

Thank you very much I strongly believe that the horse I have now is my spirit animal. I raised horses for roughly 23 years and when Angel was born, I knew there was something different about her. I had been having dreams throughout my life about a dark black mare that would come from the clouds and lower herself for me to mount, and we would ride along the shore of the sea with a heart filled with freedom. I knew this horse was the one, and I've had 13 different horses but never had the same connection.

The last time I rode a horse was in Fiji, a black stallion along the beach. One of the most beautiful experiences I've had in my life. So much peace & quiet over there, not too many people, so I had a great, free ride with him. We used to have them when we were kids on the farm, so I'm no stranger to horse riding.(No stranger to falling off either, ouch!).

That sounds like a wonderful experience. It is indeed a very free and wonderful thing to have experienced all together!

It was'nt so much powerful (besides the horse I was on), but a feeling of ultimate freedom between the both of us. It was a wonderful experience!

Absolutely, that is the feeling, and I was lucky to have had that experience myself even.

Wow!!! I love how vibrant the colors are - they really grabbed me and pulled me right into the scene. And what an awesome model! The DOF turned out nice too! Beautiful image, Vee!

Thank you Ryan, I barely got this one to render in Vue 8, but I love that grass! It's been a while since I have done anything in Vue with the sun moved, Usually I go with defaults then tweak them a bit, but this one did a 180 turn and tweak instead. I wanted to see how the atmosphere would react.

It came out great - atmo and grass! I love messing with the sun and atmo settings. Sometimes it's a bust, but I've stumbled on some cool effects. Picking the proper atmo and lighting (whether from the sun or added lights) is an obsession of mine, probably a bit OCD if you were a fly on the wall watching me. But I think it's the key to making a scene POP!

Keep 'em coming!

Thank you Ryan, and yes I do too, I still think Vue is like Bryce on crack. Although Daz is really souping up Bryce these days so I'm kind of glad they took it over. At least they didn't let an old school 3D prog die out. And yeah, I would actually love being a fly on the wall to watch you work, same with our little bear buddy, AND Mr, Hex guru... I would learn so much! lol And, I'd run off with ALL yer render buttons! Well, I'd share too but only after I got to use em! ::grinz::

LOL! [holding his render button close to his chest, looking like Gollum] Well, I suppose we can do the virtual fly-on-the-wall thing with shared screens on Skype. We've all learned so much from each other as it is, and there'll always be more to learn. The sky's the limit. And the best part is that we have FUN doing it!

A lot of things to love here. The grass, the horse, the pose, the colours. I especially like that the wings has the same colours and pattern as the horse. Is it a painted mane…? It looks beautiful. Nice DOF as well - Vue, or z map in Photoshop?

VeeSwan In reply to Ariel-X [2010-10-12 14:21:53 +0000 UTC]

Thank you Bearcakes The mane and tale are psd hair created by the same woman that made the horse mats, CWRW, she is a really nice gal as well as talented. She sells at both rendo and daz. I had to do quite a bit of tweaking though on the mane and tail as the colors just didn't match up. As for the DoF, that is your technique my dear!

Oh this is fantastic! Do you know why I say this? It is because most winged horses are black or white, but seldom pinto. How unique! Beautiful pose as well. Oh how I want to ride him!

Me too! Although I would be happy just riding my own horse too she has been a real happy girl lately. Hubby rode her a few days ago and it actually bonded them, I was so tickled. Thank you by the way Kikue
