No, it's cool! Keeps the eyes focused on the character. Haha I used to build quite some number of props a long time ago.
Missed those days! Fun to work on the details.
Hope to see more of your cosplays!

Oh nice to meet you then, fellow propmaker! Truth be told this is my first armour cosplay, but I'm hooked already and will be constantly doing more. Thank you for the watch! I'll continue to do my best ^__^)

I go for accuracy as my first priority. It has to look like the reference first, then I realise that I've forgotten about weathering while I keep thinking: "why is this so shiny...?" d:
Yeah, that whole "try and see if it works" approach is really fun xD Even if the armour's construction in my mind, I won't know till I've tried making it IRL. So yeah! Definitely full of fun and challenges.
Ah... I think I've an idea of who your master is, but I'm not so sure so I won't guess x:

Ah, nice, weathering is fun but difficult man. But I'm still not good at it.
Especially working with complex textures and certain parts that require shading.
My favourite material to work with is corrugated plastic.
Cheap, strong yet flexible when crafted properly!
When working with wood, hand plane saves the day lol.
Well we "trained" under Clive and Baoshin (who is known as Enishi to some).
They taught us techniques and stuff like how to use AutoCAD to draft a katana.
We ran a studio for a while, you can check my gallery for the photos.
Pretty good times!

Ah those are some familiar names! I'll look through your gallery for the works.
I use corrugated board sometimes for weapons. A more flexible material like foam is my choice for armour. Wood... not something I want to touch in the near future. Don't think I can invest that much time into carving and money into new specific tools for that material...
I actually haven't tried weathering yet, so I'm quite apprehensive of the whole process... Scared of irreparable mistakes I think.
Ah prop making... Once I started I couldn't think of the days without it! What about you?

Thanks for the weathering tips <:
Foam... I'm still looking for good, strong foam myself too >__> If not will have to settle for whatever SG has /sighs

Beautiful cosplay! Looks like the actual costume. The hair is precise to the actual hair as well.
