Description
Recently, I've been reading a bit about opium and its history. Addiction is scary...Pencil and ink on paper, colour added digitally with photoshop.

I really like this painting,and here's something you probably don't know about Opium
It used to be regularly used in "Gripe Water" given to teething babies.
When my Grandmother died and we cleared the house we found a bottle in the back of the medicine cupboard.
My mother had left it there and forgotten it when I was a baby and we visited.
"It really worked!" Mother replied when I asked her about it, "You went off to sleep straight away!"
When I looked at the label it said 30% Opium by volume...
We destroyed it as it was by that time illegal!
No wonder I went to sleep! You can't beat the old fashioned remedies, can you?Β Β

Wow that's a really interesting story! It's pretty mad with those old remedies and how physicians used to dish out morphine and opium like it was paracetamol! But thank you for sharing!Β

Add to the history America taking over Afghanistan to restore the opium trade.

well, i first thought it was about a mermaid, then i red the description and i understood it was not, that shadow-like that is completing her body seemed to be a tail for me, like whe was lying in an empty background, and you had drew her in a perspective, so the rest of her body was deformed by it, or that it was a drug's side effect on the viewerΒ‘s sight that caused that efect
