Description DANCING WITH THE ENEMY

Chapter One: A Dancing Class?

October 3rd

Hermione, Ron and Harry walked from Potions to Defence against the Dark Arts in foul moods. The reason for their foul moods?

Draco Malfoy and his Slytherin gang.

Through out the whole of Potions, Malfoy and his gang had been hexing the cauldron that Hermione, Harry and Ron were working on, making their potion explode in their faces. Of course, Pansy Parkinson thought this was so funny, as did the rest of the Slytherin’s.

'One day,' muttered Ron, as Malfoy, Crabbe, Goyle and Pansy walked past them, 'one day, I am going to make that git wish he was never born. How he got Head Boy, I'll never know. Probably had from help from daddy.'

'Ron, Dumbeldore wouldn't give Malfoy Head Boy status is his father threatened him,' said Hermione, 'you know as well as I do that he is second in our year.'

'After you, of course, Mione,' said Harry, smiling at his best friend.

'Ah, Miss Granger?' came a voice. Hermione looked up and saw a small Raven claw first year.

'Yes?' she asked, stopping in front of the girl.

'Ah, the Headmaster wishes to see you now.'

'Now? But I have a class.'

'I have a note for you,' she said, pulling a piece of parchment from her robes. She handed Hermione the note:

Miss Granger,

Please come to my office after your Potions class. Your DADA teacher knows and you will not be in trouble, I will see you get notes from the class. The Password is "Lemon Tea."

Professor Dumbeldore.

'Damn,' Hermione muttered, shoving the note in her own robes. The Ravenclaw girl ran off and Harry and Ron looked at their friend.

'Bad news Herm?' asked Harry.

'I don't know,' said Hermione, 'I'll see you all in DADA if I get there, or in the common room okay?'

'Okay, see you later Herm,' said Ron, walking towards the classroom. Harry waved and followed his friend.

Hermione made her way to Dumbledore’s office and stood outside the office.

'Lemon Tea,' she said, and the gargoyle sprung aside and Hermione made her way up the stairs. She spotted Dumbeldore sitting behind his desk, writing on parchment. He looked up when she arrived.

'Ah, Miss Granger, glad you're here, please take a seat,' he said, motioning with his hand to the seats in front of his desk. Hermione sat down. 'Tea drop?' He asked, holding a bowl out to her, containing many candies.

'Ah, no thankyou sir.' Dumbeldore shrugged and took one for himself.

'Now, Miss Granger. Why I have called you here today is for an important reason. As Head Girl, you are obligated to educate those around you. Now, everyone knows that you are muggleborn, and thus, you know the various dancing styles of muggles, am I right?'

'Dancing, sir?' she asked, raising an eyebrow.

'Well, yes. Are you not a dancer? Your parents tell me that you are quite gifted.' Hermione blushed. Sure she did ballet, R&B and Hip Hop, but that didn't mean she was gifted. 'Hermione, I need you to teach all seventh years to dance to any style of dancing. Any style. The first ball, the Halloween Masquerade Ball, will be where you show off how well you can teach people to dance. There will be a group dance with all seventh years at the beginning and ending of the night, and you and Mr. Malfoy must dance two dances alone too.'

'Me and Malfoy?' asked Hermione, getting angry. No way was she dancing with that git.

'Yes Miss Granger. You are head boy and girl, it is custom that you attend together.' Hermione sighed and sat back in her seat.

'Professor. I don't know all types of dancing, and the dancing that I know might not be relevant.'

'Miss Granger, I know from what I ask of you. I am also asking that you perform a piece with a dance partner at the end of year Graduation ball. Can you do that as well? Can you find a partner?'

'It will be hard.'

'Well, hold the classes. See who the best is.' Hermione nodded. 'Very well, Miss Granger, you may leave.'

Hermione got up and left and stood against the wall outside.

'Oh God help me,' she prayed. Suer Hermione had seen a lot of Muggle Movies; like Dirty Dancing and Save the Last Dance, but there was no way that she was going to be able to teach ALL seventh years to dance that way.

'Well, I am going to have to try.'

Chapter Two: Class, Teacher...Dancing

October 4th

The next morning at breakfast, Dumbeldore stood up and made the announcement.

'Today, and everyday from now until the graduation ball at the end of the school year, seventh years will be taking dancing lessons. However, it will not just be like the dancing that you did at the Yule Ball three years ago. This dancing will be a mix of both Muggle and Wizard. And the teacher of this class...will be your Head Girl, Miss Hermione Granger.'

The Gryffindors all cheered, along with the Hufflpuffs and Ravenclaws, but Slytherin were muttering under their breaths.

'Miss Granger?' asked Dumbeldore, motioning for her to come up to the front. Hermione made her way up to Dumbeldore and faced her classmates. She took out her wand and waved it. Duffle bags filled with clothes now sat in front of each seventh year.

'In front of you, is a bag of clothes. Inside, is what you will bring to my classes. I have arranged for classes to be from nine o'clock until midnight, give seventh years three extra hours sleep in the morning. Curfew is twelve thirty. If one seventh year doe not turn up to these classes, they will be punished. Also, if you do not remember your bag, you will receive detention and loose house points. This is very important, and things will go accordingly.'

Hermione made her way back down to her table, Ginny and Lavender watching her with wide eyes.

'Hermione' said lavender, 'when did you get to domineering?'

'When Dumbeldore gave me this class. Will you enjoy it Lav?'

'Of course, it'll be fun!'

'Oh I wish I could join in,' said Ginny, 'but I'm only in my sixth year.'

'I'll talk to Dumbeldore,' said Hermione, 'if you want to dance with Harry...you will.'

That night, Hermione stood in her Head Girl room. She looked at the mirror, at herself. She wore a white dress tight across the bust and stomach and flowy at the skirt. She wore high heel white shoes and her hair was wrapped up in a bun. Looking at the clock, she saw it read five to nine. She had better get downstairs before her class started.

Hermione picked up the DVDs that she had in her room, along with her wand and training books and made her way downstairs. She stood in front of the Great Hall doors and took a deep breath. Her class was in there and she was about to teach them. She let the breath out and opened the doors. Every seventh year had turned up and was wearing what was in his or her bag. The girls wore similar dresses to Hermione, many had different colours and the boys wore black dress pants and white button up shirts. Hermione saw Ginny standing with Harry, and Ron with Lavender. She smiled to her friends as she made her way to the very front. The girls were all looking at Hermione strangely.

What are they looking at? She wondered. Hermione's eyes fell on the Slytherin's. Draco Malfoy, stood tall and proud in his outfit, which Hermione had to say, looked pretty good on him. Attached to his arm was Pansy Parkinson. She wore a green dress and Hermione could see she had tried to alter it. Hermione took her wand out and pointed it at Pansy's dress. The alterations were gone.

'Hey!' she shouted. Hermione finally reached the front of the group.

'Okay everyone! If we want to get out of here by midnight, can I have some quiet please?'

'Yeah right, like I'll listen to a Mudblood.' Hermione sighed.

Hermione shrugged off the comment and turned to the CD player that McGonagall had let her get. Loud salsa music rang throughout the Great hall.

'Okay...straight lines please.' The students managed to get into four straight lines, Hufflpuffs in front, Gryffindor behind them, Ravenclaw third, and Slytherin last.

'Okay...in time with the music...take four steps to the left, turn, then take four to the right...it's a simple warm up. I'll walk around and check on you all, but I will be timing your steps. Okay...start!'

'One, Two, and Three Four...' Hermione called out, timing the student’s steps. The Hufflpuffs were a little confused but finally managed to get it right. Gryffindor and Ravenclaw were doing fine and when Hermione walked down the Slytherin line, she saw the girls trying to fall in the boys arms. Draco Malfoy was standing, arms crossed over his chest, against the far wall. Hermione sighed. 'One, Two, Three, Four. Listen to the music.'

As the students continued to take the four steps backwards and forwards, Hermione made her way over to Malfoy.

'Think you're too good for the class Malfoy?' she asked, stopping in front of him.

'I'm too good a dancer for you.'

'Really? Wanna prove it?'

'Will it get me out of this class?'

'Look, Dumbeldore wants me to teach this type of dancing, and he needs me to get a partner for the end of year graduation ball dance. If you show me you're the best dancer, in a dance with me, then you can skip all these classes, -skip as in not participate, not attend, I still want to see you here- and I'll let Dumbeldore know.'

'And all I have to do is dance with you at Graduation?'

'You know were are the lead dancers at each dance this year, Halloween, Christmas, Valentines and Graduation. Come on; show me what you've got.'

'Okay...but change this music, make them stop and watch as I dance circles around you.' Hermione smiled and made her way up in front of the class. She stopped the music and they all groaned in satisfaction.

'Okay everyone...Malfoy here...thinks he is the best dancer. Well, we are going to see. We are going to dance together...and if I see that he is a better dancer than most, he will be able to skip these dance practices. However, if he doesn’t' prove to be the best...he will dance at each function...with EVERY SINGLE GIRL IN SEVENTH YEAR.'

Draco cringed. It was bad enough that he had to dance with the Mudblood, but dance with EVERY SINGLE GIRL IN SEVENTH YEAR? No way. He was gong to beat her. He took his wand out and pointed it at Hermione's dress. Her white dress was now a light pink strapless one, with silver high heels. He pointed his wand at himself and his clothes changed to a black shirt with black bottoms. He flicked his wand again and slow music began to play...

Chapter Three: Perfect Dance

October 4th

A song called "Had the Time of my life" started playing and Hermione looked over at Malfoy stunned.

He walked slowly towards her, and taking her waist in his arms. She reached up and placed her own hands on his arms and stared into his eyes. They flexed with blue. Draco took her waist in one hand and her hand in the other and dipped her, and Hermione stretched out, letting her hair fall from the bun over her shoulders.

He brought her up to him and smiled. Hermione smiled back and turned in his arms and Draco stood behind her, lifted one arm up and traced is fingers slowly down her arm. Hermione took the hand that was on her waist and spun herself out to Draco's right. He spun her back and took her hand in his and placed the other on her waist.

The music began to be upbeat. Hermione and Draco stood facing each other, taking two steps at a time, backwards and forwards. He spun her again, and Hermione leaned back against him, and then spun again. They faced their crowd, his ram around her waist and hers over his shoulder. Everyone was stunned that the two were dancing this way.

They faced each other again and took their two steps back ad forward, keeping in time with the upbeat music. They danced around the floor, kicking their legs out and whipping their heads back. They unlinked their hands, turned towards the crowd then linked hands again.

Hermione spun away from Draco and Draco pulled her back, until they were once again in their original dancing pattern (his hand on her waist, hers on his shoulder and their other hands linked). Draco spun her, then Hermione spun him and again, the took their original pattern, and danced around the floor. Draco spun her outwards then clutched her to him again. He spun her four times, her dress flowing out above her.

He took her hand again. He spun her again, three times, and took her hand again. They danced around, her dress floating up above her knees and his hair whipping at his head. He spun her alone, outwards, they spun them around together before taking her in his hands again, then his hand rested on her waist her hers linked around his neck.

They spun around for three times then pulled her close, his lips nearly touching hers. They could hear the cheers that were going on behind them. After a few moments of Draco and Hermione looking at each other, Draco spun her outwards then pulled her back. Hermione smiled a large smile as he spun her again and her skin flowed up around her waist.

Then, he pulled her to him, her arms dropping against her sides, and only having his arms hold her up. They kept in time with the music as they took into their original pattern once more. Then, Draco felt cunning, as he pulled Hermione back from a spin, he picked her up and twirled her around in the air for a minute.

He spun her again and again then let her go and walked out into the middle of the floor and looked at her. He raised his eyebrows and she nodded. Hermione took a long run up and jumped into Draco's arms, as he lifted her up. Hermione held her arms out and didn't care that her dress was falling into Draco's face.

It was the most exciting dance she had ever done. She heard the many cheers around her as he lowered her, Hermione wrapping her arms around his neck for the moment as he placed her on the ground once again. The music stopped and they stared at each other. Everyone stopped cheering and watched the too.

'Um...good dancing. I guess...you win then?' said Hermione, pulling away from his arms and looking down.

'Yeah. Thanks.' Neither of them moved, and they continued to look at each other. Draco watched as a stream of sweat trickled down in between her breasts. She watched as he breathed hard.

'Well...um, I guess. That’s all for tonight everyone. I'll see you all tomorrow night.' The students filed out of the Hall, Hermione telling Harry and Ron that she would catch up with them in them later in the commonroom. As she packed her CDs and DVDs away, Hermione felt a chill.

'That was good dancing,' came a voice. She turned and saw Draco, standing there with his hands in his pockets, his eyes on her.

'Yeah. It was,' she replied, placing the items down, 'where do you learn to dance like that?'

'My mother, before she married my father she was a dancer. She loved it. Then she gave it all up,' he said, walking towards her, 'what about you?'

'Well...I used to do ballet; I still do, in the summer. And I learned swing dance and salsa when I was younger. I'm just beginning to learn hip hop and R and B.'

'Wow. That’s a lot. My mother just taught me classical and swing.'

'You know classical?' she asked, looking up at him.

'Yeah, why?'

'Well...it’s the only dancing I don't know. And we need to add it into the routine...Do you think that maybe...you could-'

'What teach you?' he asked, looking into her brown eyes.

'Well, yes. I mean, if I get down pact by Christmas, I can concentrate on the rest of the dancing...as well as Head Girl Duties...and Newts. Oh God. I never even thought about how this was going to interfere with NEWTs.'

'You're already smart. A little dancing won't make you a dumbass.'

'Wow. Is that a compliment or an insult?'

'Maybe it’s both...or maybe it’s neither.'

'Will you help me or not?' Hermione asked her hands on her hips.

'Yeah, I'll help. But you have to teach me some of that Hip Hop stuff. It looks interesting.'

'Maybe I'll throw in a little salsa.'

He laughed and turned to leave.

'Malfoy!' she called.

'Yes?' He had turned back to look at her.

'Thankyou...for the dance. And for agreeing to lessons...'

'It’s fine. You're not bad a dancer, Granger. I'll see you tomorrow then...here?'

'Here? I didn't think you were going to join in?'

'I won't join in. You can set them up to dance for a while then come over to me and we dance for a half hour.'

'Okay. Thankyou again.' He turned and raised his hand as a goodbye. Hermione felt butterflies in her stomach.

Chapter Four: Brisk Morning Yoga by the Lake

October 5th

Hermione woke up at six o'clock the new morning full of happiness. The dance that she and Malfoy shared continued in her dreams and Hermione couldn't believe on how much she wanted to KEEP dreaming. She sat up, yawned and stretched her arms above her head. Since it was early and no one else would be awake, Hermione thought it would be a good chance to get in some Yoga that she loved, to keep her relaxed and exercised.

She pulled on a small pair of black bike pants along with a tight black and white training bra. She pulled out a training mat and pulled on her tennis shoes and slowly made her way down to the Great Lake.

She placed her mat down and began to do her stretches, raising her arms high above her head, lifting one leg up above her head and held her foot with her hand, doing the same with the other leg, leaning down on her knees and stretching her back over, and finally doing the splits to stretch her legs outwards.

After she finished her stretches, Hermione closed her eyes, and listened to the soft morning noises. It was the best way to do yoga and get her relaxed, just listening to nature's own sound instead of pre-recorded sounds on tapes or CDs.

She began slowly, stretching her front outwards and holding her leg up behind her with one hand: the crane.

Next, she sat with her legs crossed and stretched her front backwards: the crab.

Finally, she stood up raised both arms into the air then stretched one leg out: the statue.

She checked her watch, seven o'clock. Classes started in two hours. She rolled her mat up, and as she was bending down to pick it up she heard a low whistle.

'Wow, Granger...never knew you had an ass like that,' said a voice. Hermione turned and saw Theodore Nott, one of the seventh year Slytherin's, standing with Crabbe and Goyle. Hermione couldn't see Malfoy.

'Can I help you boys?' she asked, tucking the mat under her arm. She didn’t have her wand with her so she hoped they wouldn't try anything.

'That dancing last night was pretty hot,' he said, walking up to her. Hermione stood her ground.

'I'm glad you liked it...you will all learn it soon enough.'

'How about "bump and grind?" You gonna teach us that too?' he said, grabbing her waist and pulling her against him. He grinded his leg against hers and Hermione felt something hard against her leg. Her eyes widened in shock.

'Mr. Nott...please remove yourself from between my legs or you will face serious consequences.'

'No...I like it right here...my body seems to like yours...'

'Unfortunately for you...my body does not feel the same about you...Now let go!'

'No Granger!' he shouted, forcing her down onto the ground.

'Nott!' yelled a voice from behind them. Hermione looked behind Nott and saw Draco, leaning against a tree, his arms folded across his chest, his blonde hair falling into his eyes and his wand sticking out of one hand. Hermione prayed silently that Draco was there. Draco?

When did I start calling him Draco?

About the same time you started finding him extremely hot.

Shut up.

But it’s true. You find the Head Boy with blonde hair extreamly hot and sexy and wish it was him standing above you...

'Nott! I said let go of her and leave. You know the punishments for rape in the school. And being both Head Boy and a Slytherin...I cannot let you do that...'

'What’s it to you Malfoy? You were dancing with her last night, looked like you wanted to fuck her!'

'I was dancing with her. There is a difference. And you will reframe from speaking suck language. Ten points from Slytherin.'

'I don't give a fuck about points Malfoy! Now get lost!'

'That’s another twenty points from Slytherin, as well as fifty for speaking to the Head Boy like that. Wanna keep going?'

Nott glared at Draco. 'Fuck. Fuck.-' He pushed Hermione so that she landed on the ground on her back'-Fuck.' He shot an angry look to both Hermione then at Draco and walked off. Crabbe and Goyle looked at Draco and he mentioned with his head for them to leave. They left.

'You know how to pick good company, Granger.'

'Well---I didn't think they would be here. It was early.'

'He gets up early to try and get a morning fuck from whoever he can.' She frowned at his words. 'Sorry, force of habit.'

'Well...I guess...Thankyou...I really should have brought my wand with me...but...'

'It’s okay Granger.' Draco walked up to her slowly. 'So what were you doing out here this early anyway?'

'Not asking young horny Slytherin boys to try and rape me...I was doing Yoga.'

'Ah yes...Muggle Yoga.'

'You know Yoga?'

'I know of it. I have never actually done it.'

Hermione smiled and she took in the attire that he wore that morning. Black jeans and a dark blue sweater.

'Did it really look that bad last night? I mean...us dancing and all?'

'I don't know...I enjoyed it. It’s good to dance with someone who actually knows how...do you know how hard it was for me when I used to have to dance with Pansy? She would step on my feet all the time.' Hermione laughed at this.

'Well...Pansy doesn't strike me as the dancing type.'

'Well...she isn't. Hey, come on, I'll walk you back up to the castle...Nott may try and have another go if he sees you alone.'

Hermione nodded and the two began to walk silently up to the castle.

'Why did you help me, Malfoy?' she asked, looking at him.

'Girls should never be hurt by men...I learnt that from when Lucius used to hurt my mother.' She noticed that he didn't say "my father" but his name instead. 'Anyway...they should never be forced either. I have never forced a single girl in my life.' Hermione looked up at him. 'Not one. I'm not that type of person.'

'Wow. The Slytherin Sex God never pressured a girl before...Front page news there.' She smiled and Draco smiled as well. She could tell that he was different this year, well, different since their dance.

'Am I that bad?' he asked, as they reached the Great Hall doors.

'No...I was just joking.'

'Oh, okay.' They stood in silence for a moment.

'Well...I better get upstairs and change. Harry and Ron will be wondering where I am.'

'Yeah...I'm just glad I decided to take a walk this morning.'

'I'm glad too,' she whispered. She smiled at him. He returned the smile and took her hand, bringing it to his lips and kissing it gently.

'I'll see you tonight at the lessons then?' he said, letting her hand go.

'Yeah...I guess you will.' He opened the door for her and held it open as she walked inside. Once inside, Hermione took one last look at the Head Boy then made her way upstairs. What was going on? Why did she feel this way?

That’s easy Granger...you're falling for him...

Chapter Five: A talk with Nott

October 5th

Draco watched as the Gryffindor beauty walked up the staircase leading to her room. Watching her one last time, he walked back to his own bedroom. As he reached the Slytherin common room, he saw Crabbe and Goyle lounging around near the fireplace and his best friend Blaise Zabini talking to a pretty dark haired sixth year.

'Blaise!' called Draco as he walked in.

'Oh...hey Draco, seeya Tiffany.' The sixth year took it as a hint and walked off, her eyes sweeping over Draco as she went.

'You girls got good choice?' chuckled Draco.

'Drake, man, let me have a girl for once, I beg you.'

'Yeah, yeah. I was joking. Anyway, come into my room, I need to talk to you about something.'

The two Slytherin's made their way into Draco's room and Draco shut the door firmly.

'Okay, Drake, what’s up?' he asked, sitting down on Draco's bed.

'Well...I have to ask you something. Have you ever...forced a girl...to do something with you?'

'What? Forced a girl to have sex with me? Rape her? Is that what you're asking? Drake man, what’s going on?' asked Blaise.

'Well...this morning, I took a walk right, just a walk. I went over to the Great Lake, and there I saw Nott standing above a girl, and she was struggling. I got closer I saw that he had forced her down to just near his jeans buttons. He was going to force the girl to give him ...you know... It was gross Blaise.'

'Who was the girl?'

'What?' Draco asked, not quite hearing what he was asked.

'Who. Was. The. Girl.' Blaise asked again, slower this time.

'Um...Hermione Granger,' he mumbled, softly under his breath.

'Who? Sorry man...speak up.

'Hermione Granger,' said Draco, louder so that Blaise could hear him.

'Wow! Are you kidding me? Nott tried to fuck Granger? Damn!'

'I stopped him. I don't like rape Blaise, you know that.'

'Yeah I know. Why was Nott trying to rape her anyway?'

'He must have gotten turned on by her dancing last night...'

'...which she looked hot doing. You must have noticed.'

'I noticed that my pants were getting tight when we were dancing.'

'She has gotten hot this year man. Face it...you wanna bang her.'

'Bang her and rape her are tow different things...at least when I am banging her she won't be complaining. As opposed to Nott raping her... Should I report what happened?'

Blaise shook his head.

'Nah man. Then Potter and that stinkass Weasley will know what happened and blame you for it...nah, just talk to Nott.'

'That reminds me...Have you seen him...either I'm going to talk some sense into him or pound him senseless.'

'I choose the second option.'

'I know you would. Come on, he's probably in the room.' They got up and walked into Blaise's room, to find Nott, butt naked in his bed over Millicent Bulstrobe.

'Oh...see you had a bit of sexual tension you had to release there, hey Notty?' asked Draco, laughing at him. Nott got off Millicent, who clenched the sheets around her horribly large chest while Nott pulled on some boxers.

'What the hell do you want?' he asked.

'Well, one, and I think Blaise agrees with me here, next time close your curtains and cast a silencing spell.'

'Hell yes!' cried Blaise. 'I don't wanna be looking at that nasty piece of trash.'

Millicent gasped.

'Second, you know it is against school rules to have sexual relations in Hogwarts...so you are going to be given a weeks worth of detention with Hagrid...’

'Ha-Ha. Oh man,' laughed Blaise, watching Nott's face pale.

'And finally...I am here to kick the crap out of you for this morning.' And then Draco's and Blaise's grins faded and turned into scowls as they both sprang on Nott and began to beat him senseless...
