This is a picture of the super saiyan him self. (note: I spelled saiyan the american way) Its not in Akira Toriyama's style, but then again, I am not Akira Toriyama.Done in colored pencil. (prisma color)

I find he looks a bit too old, and maybe his face should look a bit more asian, other than that this is technically a great image, superb anatomy, you are very skilled.

But, technically Goku is an alien race (such as superman, a Kryptonian) that is humanoid and could be interpreted as caucasian too, due to akira toriyama's style (except like yajorobi and teinshinhan-- in early episodes). Though I'm sure 95% of DBZ fans would disagree with me about Goku.
That being said, If you see my other pic I sort of interpreted him as being half white/ half asian. And honestly the only Z-fighters that I see COULD be white are Goku and possibly Yamcha in DBZ (because he is clearly asian in the original dragonball)
Sorry about rambling there, I'm just a huge geek that's thought about drawing a fan comic in an American style.

And don't worry about the other stuff, I was just nitpicking 
I was just saying that Goku was asian in the original, but lots of western people assume that asian cartoon characters should have small eyes and be yellow, because that's pretty much the standard western caricature of asians (even though it doesnt particularly look asian...)
Toriyama doesn't really do that, since he's Japanese, you can see that his asian characters like Norimaki from DR.Slump, or Goku, don't have those feautures. Most mangas don't, like the kids in doraemon, etc.
Hey, doesn't matter anyway, Goku's white in the movie... and there was even a Japanese Spiderman, so what the hey

Yeah, the casting of the new movie is somewhat disappointing... ughh. Actually the whole feel seems off, but I'll wait till they release a trailer before I demolish it. And I did not know about the Japanese spidey.
Oh, and as far as Toriyama's style goes, some of his characters looks more asian than others(like Yajorobe). But as you said, they'll market them differently in different cultures.
p.s. I think Frieza is the coolest looking character for sure.

Oh and about the Japanese Spiderman, it was made in 1978 and is super cheesy with giant robots that fight like in Power Rangers. I love it because its so funny!!

I kinda like the movie's Goku... except that he's white, but I've come to accept that.
I was afraid they'd choose a guy that's too old. And I'm glad he's not super buff, because if you watch the Piccolo saga, goku wasn't that big back then. He'll be bigger in the sequels!
So far I'm just worried that they'll make some stupid decisions... like Goku not being strong at the beginning, and turning super strong all of a sudden, or something dumb like that... anything that would make the story lose credibility.
I think the trailer is supposed to come out this month anyway, so there should be more info soon...

cant wait for that trailer then! And I agree about everything you just said about Goku, including him being white and coming to terms with that. And where's the publicity pic/ poster of Yamcha? I've seen the actor, but I wanna see how he looks made-up to be the character.

Yeah I dont think theyve shown yamcha in movie form yet... only the actor. I hope he will wear the same kind of costume as in the first book of dragonball.

Great idea, eff the Manga, draw Goku your own way. I prefer artists who are bold enough to do their own thing. Reminds me of He-Man a bit, but smaller jaw.
