Description A couple gangsters in front of the Nordic Ritz.

What can I say! I love the 1930's and Vikings. This is my version of the Ritz! I used a photo of the Masonic building in downtown Denver, the car is my 1937 Dodge sedan and the girl is MΓ©li Thanks MΓ©li! I never let anyone drive my car but I trust you. Pay no attention to the gangster with the machine gun, that's just me. I told you I'm crazy! I'm not a violent guy, I just like old things so I have a lot of old stuff!

I'm sorry that I'm unable to reply to all comments nowadays but I do appreciate them. Thank you for looking and for the kind comments!

Hey Don! Thank you! I appreciate that!!
Sorry I've been absent so long! I can seem to catch up with the world haha, I've been meaning to write to you for a while, I finally got PS Illustrator CS but I'm so lost! I'd like to learn to give photos a look similar to what you do (the solid colors) but I don't know where to start. The "Cut out" feature in the filter gallery is the closest thing to that look buy I can't control the smoothness or the shape of the colors very well, if that makes sense. I know it would be impossible for you to try to instruct me and that would take too much time but maybe you could recommend a tutorial or something? I can't figure out how to get those solid colors in the photos. I want to do art for T-Shirts. Any tips or info at all would be so appreciated! Thanks!

You're welcome Brent!

I know how it gets, I'm always chasing my tail. I'd be happy to give you some tips on how I create vector art. Do you still have my e-mail address? I'll note you my e-mail.

Excellent job on this, it definitely has the gangster feel. And that's gangster, not "gangsta". Those are 2 entirely different things.

I much prefer the old fashioned kind to "gangsta". At least your pants don't look like they are about to fall off. I also REALLY like old cars. They have a sense of style that will never return to the auto industry.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Jade-Pandora In reply to Vegvisir [2007-02-22 04:40:31 +0000 UTC]

It's a Daily Deviation.

You see them on the right margin all the time if you're looking around dA, doing a search and stuff. i often see some great picks, and others i just scratch my head over. Any dA member can write to an admin telling them of something they've seen and wants to recommend, and then they need to go into why they think the deviation is worth a consideration.

i miss hearing from you about what you think about my humble stuff. i know i write alot more these days than draw but that's cause the timeframe for executing a trad or mouse rendering takes hours upon hours. i don't have alot of those kind of interrupted hours like i used to. i miss drawing. i always have lots of ideas floating around in my head. Meantime...

take care, dear friend.

Vegvisir In reply to Jade-Pandora [2007-02-22 15:13:53 +0000 UTC]

Oh duh! I know what a daily deviation is it just didn't relate such a thing to my art so it went right by me. Thank you!

I'm sorry I've been auful about keeping up with my friend's deviations. I have over 700 to view and hope to evenually get to them. Sometimes I feel I shouldn't even be putting my work on here because I have so lttle time to recipricate with other artists and visitors. I hope you'll find time to do more artwork! Yet writing can be just as rewarding! Thank you Jade!
