“Let me tell you a story…

Once, not so long ago in a federation not so far away, there was a wrestler.

A champion, even.

It was the night after she won her belt and, to celebrate, our new champion came out to announce she’d take on any comers.

Anyone who wanted to challenge – step right up and take their shot.

But before anyone could come out, this woman just hopped out of the front row seats. All done up in a snazzy black dress, probably costs more than you or me earn in a year.

Bold as brass, she got into the ring and said ‘I’ll take you on’.

And the champion thought sure, why not? It wasn’t like this woman looked much of a threat. So she says ‘sure, just don’t go complaining when I kick your ass’.

The woman just smiled. Like the champion had told the funniest joke ever, except only she got it. And she pulled the dress off and threw it off to one side. Under it, she was dressed to fight. Sports bra, shorts…

But sure, ok, she was a well-prepared idiot.

As they started to fight, the champion thought fine, just take her down and submit her. Get the amateur hour out of the way fast, then maybe she could still get a real match in.

So she went right for the takedown. She got it, but the woman’s abs felt like they were made of steel. Still, she was down on the ground and the champion went for her best move.

She went for a headscissors. And she got that too. Easy as taking candy from a baby.

Now, you’re green as fresh grass so you’re probably thinking – it’s just a headscissors. Well, the champ’s headscissors weren’t ‘just’ anything. Give her half a chance and she’d have the biggest muscle-bound bodybuilder screaming like a little baby to be let out.

She used to say that there was nothing she liked more than scissoring a big, strong girl out.

Game over.

Except this woman, this random woman is smiling through all that pain.

And she says – I kid you not – ‘Alright, play time’s over’.

She jack-knifes, brings her legs up and figure-fours the champ’s ankles. Like she was scissoring her neck. And suddenly the champ’s the one who’s screaming like a baby.

Confused?

Let’s just say the champ, she came from a ballet background.

Alright, well… This woman’s legs, they were squeezing the champion’s ankles against each other, right? So the Achilles tendon in the back of one leg was being pressured into the bony parts of the other.

And, being of a ballet background, our champ’s Achilles tendons were all kinds of vulnerable. So she screamed for her mommy, rolling around, trying to get out… And she couldn’t.

Don’t look this up, kiddo. It’s damn uncomfortable to watch, trust me.

This goes on and on and on, ‘till this woman gets bored I guess. A good minute.

‘Let me teach you a lesson,’ she says.

Then the woman… You know, I’ve watched it plenty of times and I still can’t figure out how she got from there to where she ended up.

She reversed it though. Right into a Sasori-gatame. Scorpion Hold. You probably know it better as a Sharpshooter. This girl, she did it like most people breathe. One, two, three.

And let’s just say she made sure to keep those ankles crossed; y’know for that extra cruel twist, as if the champion’s Achilles wasn’t already wrecked.

The champ couldn’t tap out fast enough. And that was that.

Well, no it wasn’t. There were still two more falls to go. Second one didn’t last long – bitch rolled her into a bodyscissors and Dragon Sleeper, damn near added broken ribs to the leg damage.

Those thighs…

She had a grip like an anaconda, seriously. Third fall… She just pulled the champ up and kneed her right to the chin, like some Muay Thai fighter or something.

They had to carry the champion out of the ring. Her leg was never quite right after that, or her ribs, so she had to retire, take up training. Still limps.

As for the woman who did it, they call her the Teacher. Nobody’s been able to find out her real name or much about her.

All I know is she’s the last person you ever want to see facing you in a ring.
