But I don't suppose she actually is "deaf, dumb and blind", is she? If you had to wear hearing aids, would you cover them with your hair, and why?

Your reply doesn't surprise me... I get angry when I read about people who don't have disabilities/impairments taking the part of people who are supposed to have them. Not long ago in a British TV soap, there was this guy who was "seriously injured" in an explosion, and it left him (supposedly) needing a hearing aid. Not long after, the soap finished, and a little while later, the guy in the explosion got a part in another soap - and when you see him, he was not wearing a hearing aid. Crazy, or what?

Well she's only an actress. Or do you wish her to be blind and deaf just to fit perfectly in the role. A mere example - when a movie narrates the story of a raped woman, are you angry when you learn that the actress wasn't raped in her real life? On the contrary.
She is an ACTRESS - and as an actress, she plays the role to the best of her abilities - whatever is her life, her way of life, her experiences, etc.

I realise when a person appears in a fictional programme who is supposed to have been raped, in all probability, in real life, they won't have been - but I don't see why a person who has got a disability cannot take the part of a disabled person in a fictional programme. Would you expect a person who doesn't use a wheelchair in real life to take the part of somebody who does in a fictional programme, because I wouldn't!

I would! If this person plays very well their role, then there is no problem for me.
Of course, a disabled person in real life may take the part of a disabled person in a fictional program. Nobody said the contrary. As a undisabled person may play the part of a disabled person. I don't see any difference in this - and I don't wanna see one because in both cases, those people are actors.
