(That's what I like people to do with my paintings, so they can connect more personally with the piece and take a more active role.)

I'll just say that I gave it the title that i did because I see it as being very female, and I felt a lot of undirected female rage whilst painting it. I do not know why, but it just all came out. "Persuasion" is meant to have a double meaning; either a manipulative sort of angle or just "femaleness" as in "the female persuasion".

This was painted over an old painting (which you can still see a bit). I think it adds to it, actually.
I painted it using:

oil paint
red enamel
white encaustic (pigmented wax)
asphaltum
layers of liquin-thinned oil paint.

I sold this painting almost a year ago at an outdoor art sale, and the picture has been lost in my computer for about 10 months. I'm so happy I found it! My baby!!!! I was sad to sell it, but it made me lots of money.

I found it interesting that during that art sale, a lot of women really gravitated towards it. Men too, but mainly women.

4x4 feet.

I love the texture in this! Really beautiful and lovely color. And the title really makes this (pink and flowers...very feminine )

This would look awsome in my living room!

Thanks very much! I love working with the surface and textures you can get with encaustic, and the old painting underneath gives it a lot more character. It was a lot of fun to paint, and yes, it's very female with all of that red and the flowers. A lot of women gravitated to it. I'm glad you like it!

Sheesh Jojo.. I didn't even know you had a seperate acount for no fan art stuff.. I should be more perceptive. Anyways, I love this painting, it was the one that jumped at me in your gallery.. I think it was all that anger that was screaming in it.

Yeah, i do! I wanted to post my paintings and they don't really fit into my regular gallery, so I thought I would make another account for this stuff.
I'm so glad you like this one! It's one of my favourites. hehe yes the rage is quite provocative!
Thank you!

I just figured that many of my regular watchers aren't interested in stuff that isn't fan art anyway. It's nice to keep them all separate this way.
thank you, sweetie! I was super-sad to see it go, but I'm glad that the owner is enjoying it.

I love the title! It suits it rather well, to be honest. It leads the mind to think light feminine thoughts with a twist of persuasion thrown in. The flowers are so delicate and the colors, so soft. Everything is perfect! A definate fav, sweetie!

really? Thanks! That's kind of fun, I've wanted to paint on silk before too, but I'm afraid it wouldn't turn out well. And there's another artist in Toronto who paints on silk, so it's been done.

I love your traditional work ^___^
I really love the texture (damn I wish I could see these in the flesh!) and love the colour choice, Its fememine but very strong and passionate, and almost bloody, which is what being a woman should be all about. I find it rather empowering, with the flowers it has beauty, but the colour and and media is so gutsy. It's like 'I'm a woman, FEAR ME!'

love it ^_~

Thank you very much!
I wish I could see it again too, but this is the only way I can visit it now. *sniff* I miss it!

Yeah, that's pretty much the feeling I was going for when I painted it. It's feminine, but also frightening in its power and intensity. I'm glad you love it, my dear!

ooh, very pretty. And yes, teh colours, especially, strike me as being female. (And Flowers too; I always envision flowers as female things)

I also love it, cause well.. Most of it's red. And I do sense some of the 'rage'. Its kinda like a two-sided person - the white is the calm part,a dn the red is the angry part. And the flowers look like they're fading - so it's kinda like when someone's mad, come of their 'calm' goes with it.

Heh. Insightful, eh?!

How much did it sell for, (if its 'confidential' its aight. hehe)

Very astute interpretation, Kerry!

hehe it's not confidential, but it might be bad taste to say (but why would I care, really). It's the most I've ever sold anything for though ($2500)

Hehe - I am the bright one in the family... at times... lol

HOLY CRAP! I've still to be paid... especially from that jerk who didn't pay me the 20$ for the Angelina picture... *mumbles incoherently*

I like it a lot. I love how the flowers are sort of melting away. It almost feels like they are being blown away by an explosion or something coming from the dark end of the painting. I'm very partial to these colors.
