awesome work! The only thing that irked me was the absence of any kind of jet plumes from the ships, but I imagine they would mess with the negative space too much.....

Thanks! As for plumes, I hadn't given that much thought. I suppose that if they were rockets they'd be making a plume, but if they were jets it would just be the burn, unless they were taking off, which they aren't. So if they are descending and those are jet engines of some kind, it's all good, right?

It's cool, either way works. The plumes might have obstructed too much of the background anyways... ruined the depth.

I love the airship designs and the small extraterrestrials . It is like a seamless blend of Macross and Lord of the Rings. The Colors ,overall composition and the design makes this piece one of my faves simply due to the fact that it feels like the peoples are being left behind and abandoned by the higher classes of their feudal society or even like the ending scene from the Planet of the Apes (The Charlie Heston version) .
Overall ,this would either make a great beginnin or ending to a comic book or movie. Maybe even expand your concept if you want.
