Description Kayla and her followers huddled together. The thumping grew closer and soon enough, an enormous figure emerged from the trees. He looked hungrily at the girls.

"Well, now. Look at this," he began, stalking closer. Kayla looked behind her for help, but her puppets had already booked it as the giant came into view. She stood there, glued to the ground in fear and trembling all over.

"I wasn't expecting guests, today," he continued, stopping right in front of her. Kayla staggered and tried to run away, but the giant grabbed her in a fist and held her up to his face. She squirmed and begged him to let her go.

"I'm sorry!!! Please don't eat me!!! I'll never come here again!!!" she pleaded. The giant's stomach growled loudly and he grinned.

"But I haven't had breakfast yet, and snacks like you are hard to come by these days," he said, bringing her a bit closer to his mouth.

"Please!!! Please!!! I'll do anything!!! Just don't eat me!!!" Kayla begged, leaning away from his mammoth maw. He pulled her away and glared at her.

"Then let me make one thing clear: the next time you decide to try and kill anyone for fun, I will personally hunt you down and you'll be my late-night snack!! Got it?" Kayla shakily nodded and the giant lowered his fist just above the ground. He opened his hand and dropped the teenager on the ground. She stared at him and he leaned down till he was face to face with her.

"Shoo." Kayla wasted no time in scrambling to her feet and bolting out of the forest. The giant chuckled as she ran off.

"Alright. Pests are taken care of. Now where is that kid?" That's when he heard a splash followed by a gasp and coughing. He turned around and saw a little girl with blue hair struggling towards a rock. She clung to it for dear life and continued to shiver and cough. He got up and slowly walked towards her. Eve looked up and saw the giant coming for her. She shut her eyes and whimpered.

"Heu. Do you need help?" he asked. Eve opened her eyes and looked at him. She coughed and sniffled.

"I...I can't swim. I'm stuck," she whimpered. The giant gave her a soft smile and held out his hand for her.

"Grab onto my finger and I'll pull you back to land." Eve moved her arm towards his finger, but clutched the rock again as soon as she slipped.

"I can't...I'm scared," she whimpered.

"It's alright. I won't let you drown. I promise." Eve hesitantly latched onto his finger, one arm at a time, and he gently pulled her towards him.

"That's it. You're almost there," he encouraged her. He helped her back onto land and gently patted her back, making her cough up more water.

"Are you okay, kid?" the giant asked. Eve looked up at him and nodded. She coughed again and shivered.

"Are you cold?" Eve nodded and the giant placed his hand down palm up. Eve hesitantly climbed on and sat down. He slowly brought her up to his chest and cupped his other hand behind her. She snuggled into his blue tunic.

"Better?"

"Y-yes. Thank you," she said quietly.

"What's your name?" The giant asked.

"Eve. What about you? You remind me of someone." The giant smiled.

"I'm Link. It's nice to meet you, Eve." Eve's eyes widened.

"Link?! Princess Zelda's knight?!" she asked.

"Yeah. Or...at least I was until a recent...accident," he said sheepishly. Eve tilted her head.

"What do you mean? What happened?" Link rubbed the back of his neck.

"Well, after fighting off a few monsters, I was hungry and put a soup together. I was feeling creative and decided to add something new to it. So, I looked around and came across this strange purple flower. The Sheikah Slate didn't seem to recognize it. It smelled pretty good, so I added it to the soup. The flower gave it a nice kick and the soup was great! I went home that night and I was fine. But when I woke up, everything was a lot smaller. I kept growing and hurried to get outside. When I got outside, there was an enormous hole in the wall from my growing form. I tried to go to Zelda for help, but the guards wouldn't let me anywhere near the castle because of my size. Everyone was either attacking me or running away from me, so I went into the forest. I haven't been to the castle since." Eve sat there with her jaw hanging open.

"How long ago was that?" she asked.

"Several months," Link answered.

'That's why the guards have been asking around. No wonder everyone has been wondering where Link went. They probably don't see that he's the giant they were so afraid of.'

"If you want, I can see if I can help you get back to normal size. I know a lot about different plants and herbs. If you describe it, I can probably identify the flower that made you grow and try to find a cure," Eve offered shyly. Link gave her a surprised smile.

"You really think you can help me?" he asked hopefully. Eve hugged his tunic and patted his chest.

"Sure! You saved me from drowning, so it's only fair that I help you! Besides, Hyrule is boring without you around!" Link felt touched by her words Β and smiled at her. For the first time in a long time, someone freely offered to help him. He didn't see fear in her eyes anymore. Only confidence and sincerity.

"Thank you, Eve." Eve nodded and smiled.

"Your welcome, Link! I'm happy I can help!" She jumped when his stomach growled loudly. She looked at his stomach and back up at him.
"We should probably get you some food, first," she said casually. Link chuckled and nodded. Link was about to put her down when she stopped him.

"Wait! Can I come with you? I have some things I need to get here, anyway. And..." she fiddled with her fingers, "I kinda want to get to know you better." Eve's face flushed a deep red. Here she was, sitting in the palm of her idol's hand! She finally got to meet Link and she wasn't going to pass up an opportunity to hang out with him! Link laughed a little at seeing her tomato red face. It was adorable!

"Sure. I shouldn't keep you here too long, though. Otherwise, your parents might send the whole town in here." Eve was squealing on the inside.

"O-okay," she said, barely able to contain her excitement. Link lifted her up to his shoulder and she clambered on, only slipping a few times. She held on to his tunic as he slowly got up and started walking. Eve was fangirling like crazy inside! This more than a dream come true! She had so many questions for him and so many things she wanted to tell him.

"Eve?" She shook her head.

"Huh?"

"I asked you if you wanted anything to eat," said Link. Eve blushed and chuckled nervously.

"Oh. Heh heh, um...yeah, if it's okay. But you need to eat first. You sound like you haven't eaten anything yet today. I only ate half of my breakfast." Her voice saddened upon finishing her sentence. Link noticed her sudden tone change and looked at her.

"What's wrong?" he asked. Eve wiped away a tear and shook her head slightly.

"I...I'll tell you later," she said quietly. Link internally sighed and continued looking for food.
