About the Artwork:
Fanart of Kasen Ibaraki, the "One-armed Hermit" from the Touhou Project
Kasen Ibaraki is a rather interesting character. She has the ability to communicate with animals, and she possesses an artificial arm that, when unwrapped, takes the form of black ash. She also possesses unusual strength and other mystical abilities that make her stand out from the rest of the newer characters in the series.
She appears to be based off the legendary oni, Ibaraki-doji. Because of this, many fans (including me) have theorized that she is actually a powerful oni. This artwork was loosely based off that idea, partly because of her strong stance and the unsealed arm.
I haven't given away an artwork for somene. This could probably be my first gift art.
This was supposed to be my part of an art trade, but *Auramie gave up on her part.
Back to using the sketchy one-layer style. I had to make do with the little time that I have for drawing. But I put all my heart into it, and I'd say that I'm pretty happy with what I did here.

This is my first time seeing this character. She looks really cool.
I love the way that you did the colors and the shadows in this piece.
The pose is really awesome. I also really like the idea of the rose vine attack. The way that the ashen arm is manipulating the rose vine attack is well portrayed.
I kind of wish that you could have included something to represent her animal communication abilities, but there is already a lot going on in this piece. Maybe in a future piece.
