Great title, it manages to incorporate into the shot what would otherwise be a major distraction. Obviously it also changes the subject matter of the photograph from beautiful sunrise/set to something more akin to "You're not allowed in my beautiful space."
Whether or not it was intentional at the time of shooting, it certainly was clever.

Well, it was not something that I intended to leave in the shot honestly. I walked half-way to the post to rip it down before deciding that incorporating it might work in the overall scheme.
I was very aware of it when taking the shots, hence it being centered.

Well, I actually didn't believe it was intentional due to its centering. I guess the Rule of Thirds isn't a convention.

Hehe, no certainly not. Actually I haven't heard the rule of thirds mentioned since high school.

The college I go to, most of the instructors in the visual arts laugh at works that don't.

Btw, I just reread my statement. That's not an ego thing, I just chuckled when you first said the rule of thirds because it really has been so long since I've heard it taken seriously as a firm rule in the art world.

Hmm... I guess to each his own. 7 years in art school and a BFA in photography. I think I heard it mentioned in my freshman year as a rule that's ok to be broken, like every other rule.
I'm not saying either is wrong, just wasn't something I had heard in a while.

Generally when the students critique each others works, they toss photos off the table for certain things. Just saying things like "cliche" or "centered." In the painting studio it is a thousand times more brutal, but its o.k. because I don't paint.

Hehe, yeah I've been through plenty of critiques where people left crying. I miss them.

The sunset definitely makes it beautiful. The barn looks awesome. I love old places. Is there anything side it?
