Description Sciathans are a Closed Species. Don't make one without permission please ///

Appearance/Aging

Generally, Sciathans have very basic humanoid properties. With the most common ears types are Human, Perk, Circle, and Fold, and the most common tail types being None, Fluffy, Skinny, and Curl. Other types exist, such as hare-based ears, but are uncommon to see in day to day life. They are usually around 5 foot- 6 foot in height, though rarely being taller than 5'10. They have six (three on each side) incredibly sharp blade-like wings that float around their shoulder area, which can be used to both fly and fight. They don't feel pain in their wings normally, but if it somehow ends up cracked or smashed, they feel excruciating pain, and it takes years for the wings to stop hurting. Sciathans may also turn their wings into a tattoo if they so choose to, but it will only last an hour or two.

Sciathans don't age like humans. They can live from 100 years to even thousands, and the physical difference between the ages is hard to tell. The first 18 years of their life, however, is very similar to that of a human. After that, they don't seem change appearance-wise for 100-200 years.

(baby tattoo)

When born, a Sciathan doesn't have its wings. They are born with a very simple tattoo on their back, consisting of their dot pattern, and a skinny oval. While the wing dot is genetic, and children usually inherit their mom's dots, their wing blades are actually developed based off one's personality. One's wings will pop out once they reach 15 years old, marking their last ten years growing. The more complicated the wings created, the less they can control their emotions. In rare cases, the child's personality is altered after the get their wings, and the personality doesn't match up with it. The more of a certain type of trait one has, the prominent the trait.

They can move their wings from their wing dots at will, to attack others. Other times, if a Sciathan trusts another (perhaps as a lover, or a close friend) they will tap each other's wings against each other. It is said that if you tap someone with your wings, it will bring them good luck in the future. While moving their wing blades, their eyes and wing dots will glow a color. This color usually very similar to the colors of their wings or eyes.

Another trait Sciathans have is their life symbol. Sciathans cannot die from blood loss, starvation, cancer, or other things. While those situations will hurt a Sciathan(And they may WANT to be dead), the only can be killed for Life symbol to be damaged. It is incredibly easy to destroy a life symbol, but generally a Sciathan will hide their to prevent death. The symbol can be as small as a quarter, to as big as a fist.

Sciathans and Humans/Kemonomimis

Humans view Sciathans as potential threats, and generally hunts them down to diminish the chances of Sciathans killing people. This causes Sciathans to live out in the forests in small groups or tribes, not wanting to have to kill countless people. Despite their wings being quite obviously both a weapon and a way to transport themselves, Sciathans(GENERALLY) don't particularly enjoy killing people. Sciathans have been known to turn their wings into a tattoo to participate in festivals, or shop.
