I really like this. I agree with your teacher - it is unconventional, but it works very well. I even like the slight grain to the photo - it looks old and worn.

It's a 'silhouette' by the way.

I just have to tell you, I think this is really awesome - not only the way the image was captured, but the concepts it brings to my mind. The somewhat monotone colors bring a sort of eerie mood to the piece...

She looks trapped - like she can't reach what she's trying to get to...

I love it.
