Description
Copic sketch markers, faber castell colour pencils and gouache on bristol board. Size - about 5 x 7 inches.For my DAWN luvin' buddy. Thank you.

Had such fun doing this piece, very enjoyable - hoping to do more larger sized sketches in 2010.

Where'd you use gouache? Still trying to learn how to use it myself. Gotta get use to to it. lol

Anywhere you see white, that'd be my gouache usage. 
I do have a few other gouache colors but really only ever use the white stuff.

Did you use the copic markers on her shirt? It's so smooth! I'm gonna have to get me some of these markers, everyone else is having way too much fun with them. And p.s. I love the way you do red hair!

I did, yeah... but there's *a lot* of color pencil on that top too.

Yeah, I see them in the highlights and reflected light on the shirt (and of course her cool green shirt). Do you put pencils directly on top of the Copics? The problem I have with colored pencils is that you can never seem to burnish the black areas well enough. Putting a layer of Copics underneath might help. Okay, I'll start off with a fews greys and go from there. Thanks!

Yeah, I put down my copics first and then color pencils on top. Very rarely do I pick up my markers again once I've started on the pencils.
Yeah... you could use pen to make those blacks *rrrrreal* black... usually I just get my black pencil nice and sharp, then redo the line a couple of times.

Hell yeah, I will! I can imagine that the copics wouldn't go well on top of the waxy pencils. And yeah, I usually end up using pens, or going over it a zillion times.
