Based this on a sketch I did last year (you may find it in my Scraps). I've been working on this a little by little since January, so it feels weird to have finally finished this.Here's me hoping some of you'll enjoy this, and please fullview

That background is gorgeous and I think I've said before but I envy your gift of matching characters with backgrounds without having one seem like it "doesn't fit".

Pfft contrast? This doesn't need it ^_^ The colors are subtle, not trying to take over each other, making the whole image very soft, and the strong emotions that comes from the characters (which the focus is on very much either way!) balances it out. Added with all the juicy details in this pic, especially the background just keeps the eye wondering around it a lot, which I like!

That's a really neat piece. Well done!
If I had to find a fault in it, it would be that the whole composition is a bit too dull, or unfocused; can't find the right words, but it's all about the lighting and the colours. The two characters don't really seem to stand out, and I think they could use a bit more contrast with the background.

Yeah, of course there's always room for improvement! And I still need lot of practice as far as composition, especially with backgrounds go. >_>; I actually ended up changing the composition in this a lot of times (in the sketch phase), so I was happy enough with this compared what I had before.
I do appreciate the crit! Personally I always prefer if people could give me feedback on my sketches, so I know what I could possibly fix before completion (if and when I plan to finish a picture). Unfortunately not that many people look at my scraps.
