A gift for *GoldenTigerDragon , since I like drawing this character for some strange reason. >:3
I-i.. Actually did this twice. The first version was completely different, and I wanted to do it in GIMP. The shading failed really badly and I didn't like it anyways so took a different idea and started working in SAI.
Sorry for the failish background, I ran out of ideas. ;w; This was good practice though! I don't draw scales often.

allso i would add some effects to make it look more real!

There are 5 things that I see where you can improve on it, though. The body length should be a tad longer, and the belly doesn't go in that much. The tail should have a smoother transistion between thick and thin. The wings could be in the same position, because he doesn't seem to be doing anything special with them.Also, the left back paq seems to be at an awkward angle. The last thing I see is the neck. with his head turned that much, the scales on his chest should curve to where it looks like it naturally meets the neck.

The background isn't fail at all. It's pretty well done, and it's much better than the backgrounds I could make. The birds and stars help add to the general tone of this piece. I love the detail with the scales and such. The tail looks a bit weird where it bends, though. I'm not quite sure what it's supposed to look like, but that's a minor problem. From what I can tell, the place where it needs the most improvement are the wings. You're treating the golden and red parts as different parts. Because of that, the wings don't really look like wings. Where the red is dark the golden is light. The wing is an entire piece by itself, so shade the wing as if it was one thing, not two.
Anyways, this drawing is really good, and much better than what I can do.
