Not really but I would like to think so. I mean the DKoK were made by GW and not all of them carry flamethrowers unless they are heavy weapons users in Warhammer. The only other faction that matches the Pyro is the Sisters of Battle. Those ladies are obsessed with fire much like the Pyro.

Oh my god, you have my respect. Not easy a modern pixel artist can make a piece that looks straight out of a cinematic from an early-90s Amiga or DOS game. The shading and subdued colors reminds me of Psygnosis' games, and the grim, desolate atmosphere reminds me of Another World. But it's WH40K, which is even better! As a huge 40K nerd I believe the series meshes very nicely with both old computer game aesthetics and the new retro/synth revival thing going on now.
It's always wonderful to see some truly beautiful and truly retro new pixel art these days. Modern pixel art in games like Risk of Rain or Hotline Miami feels modern and is an entirely new aesthetic, great in its own way, but not atmospheric in the same way as the old.
You inspire me, as I only just picked up spriting again a week and a half ago.

Excellent use of limited palette, and I like the offset movement in the characters. The dithered transparency is very cool too... good thick choking dust there!

I'm in absolute love with this gif. The Death Korps are one of my moste favorite parts of the 40k universe. And in my opinion one of the most dystopian ones. The gif really caches the certain doom, their grim certainty of death and still they march.
Oh and the music loop has awesome music, even if I didn't even know there is an English version of this song.
