Really love the textures you used plus how you added the tiniest little details on to its skin!
I'm really impressed and I wish I had your skills. *3*)

That was incredible, I hope you can still keep making more of these videos, if it isn't too much of a hassle, because they're just so inspirational to watch! (even if I have no idea what you're doing with all those fancy tools half the time!)

amazing....was the monster on just one layer?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

vesner In reply to YoukoKitsuneBi [2012-12-11 18:01:18 +0000 UTC]

I kept merging it but usually it was one or two (once I like a part I just painted I merge it down so it's easier to transform).

could you explain to me (briefly, I know how busy you must be! ) how you colorize your picture? I work well with black and white but whenever I try to add color I can never seem to get the right colors and the right saturation. What are the main layer settings you work with when you colorize? Or if you know of any good tutorials on colorizing from black and white that would be amazing (:

vesner In reply to Gwendolaine [2012-12-11 18:00:02 +0000 UTC]

For colours I usually use Soft Light and Overlay layers on top of grayscale. Picking the right saturation is troublesome sometimes but you'll get the hang of it. You can always make one more layer, set it to Saturation, paint it with black or white and then change its opacity so the region you want becomes less saturated.

have you ever made a tutorial/brush packet? i understood about 1/4th of that and it would be terific to be able to use photo shop like you can

vesner In reply to finnicky-dragon [2012-12-11 18:02:16 +0000 UTC]

I'm still cleaning up my brushes to publish them on dA. They're mostly a mix of different brushes made by other people but I guess it might be helpful.

finnicky-dragon In reply to vesner [2012-12-12 00:18:20 +0000 UTC]

i just wanted to see them for comparisons sake, my brushes are a mix to, and recently i have heard that its better to use the default then the more complicated ones... i like the mix persenoly but i just wanted a bigger focus group
