Sneaking this one in. Totally had to crank on it, too. However, the final result is beyond even what I was expecting to come out, so hooray for that.

I had such low expectations for this series when it was first announced. Then I read Mister Sinister's spotlight issue.
In the span of a few pages he went from a second-tier fallback to, well, Anyone who thinks Latveria is the ideal supervillain Egopolis has never seen "Sinister London" in all its cloned, Steampunk glory.

not really sure what to do with that comment, but for the record, vest and i follow and studied many industry artist over the years, including but not limited to joe, If you thumb through the rest of our stuff, just like any other artist, we have our own style. A style that didn't develop overnight or is dependent of Joe's art existing in the first place. Granted, he is a talented artist and for you to even draw reference is a complement (whether you meant it as one or not)....so in theory, you can't "Out-do" someones style because the nature of a style is the person as an artist, everything else is practice, tools and tech. Referring to Joe's style as something to Out-do...now that's grotesque.

I'm trying to be constructive and maybe I was a bit too harsh. I'm referring to some of the worst aspects of his art, the identical pinched faces for women and enormous chins and brows for the men. It's fine when it's applied to original characters but for known properties it just looks... surreal. I dunno, maybe I'm just still bitter about Ultimates 3.

You weren't being harsh at all.
You were being vague and rude.
Constructive is: "The drop shadows from her staff don't seem to be applied to her arm," or "I think the composition would benefit by having stronger outlines around the guy in the foreground." Stuff I can use, stuff I can learn from, stuff that upon application results in an immediately better image.
Simply saying "trying to out JoMad JoMad" isn't constructive at all. It's absolutely useless. It doesn't tell me anything. It criticizes the artwork negatively in a manner that also criticizes another artist; that's the opposite of constructive. Again, it's quite vague and rude.
Also remember that I'm just the colorist. Your criticism doesn't even apply to what I do. If you want to notify the line artist, the one who came up with this image's character style, you can send your opinion their way. That's why I make painstaking effort to ensure I properly credit and link to my line artists on every image I upload to dA in the hope that one actually reads the artist comment before writing a comment of their own.
Apologies for lashing out like this, it's not in my nature to do so within my own work's comments. I was just going to let the first comment fly originally. But seeing you say "I'm trying to be constructive" struck a chord with me, because I'm afraid you were anything but.

I've finally recovered from my heart attack that this majestic piece of awesomeness gave me. The dream team strikes again!! Incredible colors and a perfect compliment to an amazing pencils job. Great work with bringing out the textures in the uniforms and the intensity of the musculature. Wolvie's my favorite and you did the man justice. The lighting here, both in the background and shining from the character's eyes, chest, etc. is just mesmorizing. You two need to go into business together cuz you make an incredible team.
