"You wanted to see me, Alicia?" Svetta asked as she entered the officer of her leash, Alicia Masters, in full costume.

"Hi, Svetta," the other woman replied, smiling. "Please, have a seat."

Svetta did so and Alicia continued. "I've been asked to inform you about an exciting new acquisition Onpyh Corp has amde this morning."

"Oh?"

"Yep. We just bought Uber!" she exclaimed excitedly. "Isn't that great?" she asked after a brief pause to make Svetta reply.

"Uh, yeah. Awesome."

"Oh, right, the jokes. Sorry."

"It's fine as long as they don't expect me to ferry people around or anything."

"Eheh, yeah... about that..."

"I hate her sometimes," Svetta grumbled as she came to a landing across town.

It turned out that, yes, she was expected to fly people around town, but only for the first week acquisition celebration for those who paid the premium rate. Svetta would have refused, were she able to disobey Alicia.

"Hello!?" she called out. "I'm looking for a Mister... Jim?"

"Over here," said a voice from a nearby alleyway.

"Oh, joy," Svetta mumbled sardonically. "Yeah, this looks legit."

Regardless, she entered the alley, where she found a man waiting. He was a relatively muscular man in a tigh green and purple body suit that left no skin exposed, though his brown hair was visible along with the black spirals on his chest and mask.

"Great, a new super villain hires me so he can take me down an alley and hypnotize me."

The man said nothing. He simply raised a hand and a swirl of green and purple energy emerged, swirling closer until it hit her in the face, rendering her mindless.

"Not quite," the man finally said. "But that is the purpose of this meeting, yes. You're going to come with me and do as I say, then you're going to deliver a message for me. Isn't that right, Ubergirl?"

"Yes, Master," she replied emotionlessly. "Follow and obey... deliver a message..." Her arms rose up and she marched after him into the building.

Alicia was filing some documents in her office when the window suddenly exploded as Ubergirl entered the scene.

"S-Svetta?" Alicia coughed, her voice shaking with shock. "W-What's going on?"

"I am here to deliver a message for my master," she replied with a tone and expression that made Alicia understand she was under mind control.

"A message?"

"Yes. He says the higher-ups at Onpyh Corp must be moronic neanderthals to allow an infamously weak-willed powerhouse such as me to be hirable in a city full of mind controllers. He says we were all lucky he got in first and advises that the service be terminated immediately."

"I-I'll make a note of that. But, does that eman the eprson controlling you isn't a villain? Is he a hero?"

"I have never heard of my master before today. I cannot say if he is a hero or a villain."

"I see... Uh, Svetta? Where are your boots?"

"My master had his fun before sending me away. He kept my boots for unknown reasons."

"Damn. We should've installed trackers in them."

"I am to awaken from this trance and forget all about him once the message is fully delivered."

"Okay, what else is there?"

Svetta slowly lowered to the ground, pulled Alicia in and kissed her deeply. Alicia was shocked by this, but she didn't resist. Once the kiss was finished, Svetta explained.

"My master wanted to make it up to me for controlling my mind by having me kiss the first person I have an attraction to."

"I... see..." Alicia was happy about this development, though she was unsure if it was because this meant she could more easily manipulate Svetta, or for other reasons...

"Huh? Alicia? What's going on? Where am I? And why am I barefoot?"

"You just sit down for a minute, Svetta. I'll explain after I make a quick phone call. Looks like this whole Uber thing was a mistake after all."

"Really? I don't have to fly people around anymore?"

"After this whole affair, I certainly hope not."

"Okay then. I'll wait." Svetta smiled as she did as she was asked, while Alicia left to call her bosses and let them known about this new mind controller in the city. She could only wonder what this person had planned...

Jim finished prying open the soles of Ubergirl's boots with a knife before throwing them aside. There was no technology inside that could be used to further his plan.

Oh, well. Today was fun either way. Sure, Ubergirl was notoriously easy to control, but she wasn't a bad target for the first proper use of his power. He'd definitely have to run into her and her friends some time in the future, whenever he could be arsed...
