This is my favourite quote (or at least part of one) from John Groban's book Marley and Me.I couldn't help but laugh and cry as I read this book cause I see the exact same behaviour in my dog. At least I know my dog isn't the most badly behaved in the world

I have a budgie, and she is acting more like a dog! I mean, she is the tamest budgie in the world, and everytime i'm entering the door to my house, shes climbing around in the cage, and whistling to get out and greet me. She loves me just for me, and nothing else. Thats the thing about all animals. Not just dogs. They love you just for you. Not because of your look, or how much money you've got. They give their heart to you. And you should give your heart back to them.
