Description
One of a bunch of chestnut tack trunks with hand-wrought iron hardware, heavily distressed and with a worn & crackled finish made for Bruce Springsteen & Patti Scialfa's barn. Also made bridle racks, curry totes and a saddle washing stand with a carved tray below.

Didn't get to meet The Boss, though.

My neighbor Jeff in the shop next door was in the horse
tack trunk biz, and met the barn manager at a show, IIRC.
He got the job and subbed it to me, since it was more like
fine reproduction furniture than the shiney new stuff he made.

Jeff invited me to go with to deliver them, but I said no thanks,
didn't want to drive all the way out to Jersey just to
meet famous people,
and gave him my card to give to The Boss, in the hopes
of getting more work.
Jeff sez he sat in Bruce's kitchen having a beer with Bruce and Jon Bon Jovi while they told him what a genius artisan
he was, and that Sting and Trudi weere coming over
later in the week and he couldn't wait to show them,
and Jeff got a swelled head never told them he didn't actually make the
stuff, and didn't give them my card.

Ha! Would have liked to get some more work from those
guys, but I like the story better, and it makes me laugh
everytime I think of it!

I don't have any of their records anyway, so why should they buy my stuff? >8^)
