This is the first Harajuku hug boy! He was so sweet. We got his picture and free hugs. It was great. He thought it was funny. Again, he had adorable engrish. He'd say "sank you!" every time we hugged him.Related content

Well,I think, in Japan, hugging in public is not quite a common thing. I don't know if it's true (I never went to Japan). So, I guess some people want to break the trends by offering free hugs. I once saw a video of four hug boys in action and the vast majority of huggers were ''strangers''. And the few japanese folks who did hugs seemed to hold back a bit.

I think so. You see, historically speaking, Japan didn't open up to the occidental culture (and all the things that comes wit it)ย until rather recently. And in Japan, there's a big, merciless hierarchy in which you must immediatly guess (at first glance) the social statue of your ''superior'' and must treat it in that if he is. And therefore, a surprize glompย is seen as ''very impolite''.

To put it simply, if both you and meย lived in japan, I wouldn't call you just ''Scr1b3'' (we would have to be VERY close, friendship-wise). I would have either to call you ''Scr1b3-san'', ''Scr1b3-chan'' or (if you're a boy and rather close to me (friend or more) ) ''Scr1b3-kun''.
