Greetings, ViciousSlash.

I've taken a look at your other recent works, and I've noted a progression in style.

To that end, was there any specific limit you were looking to push in your depiction of Kuma, here? Kuma's figure involves a subtle tone difference between his hair and his jacket, and even the gray of his hat and pants actually differs from the stark white of his jacket emblem.

Moreover, his great size can be difficult to depict due to the page, and a lack of scale. On the same note, many of your recent drawings exploit a stronger visual angle and sense of dynamics.

Bartholomew can be interesting for how he embodies both stillness/strength, and yet also suddenness of motion, if not nigh-imperceptible speed and force.

Did you intend to work on any other images of him? Perhaps you could use that opportunity to push your style, and attempt more ranges into extremes of value or angle of perspective.

It's always good to see new artwork, yet alone that of Kuma. Thank you for taking the time to submit your work, Vicious.

Thanks, I don't ever practice because I am a bum. So once every six months I post a picture up and then disappear. I guess there has been a progression simply because I am getting older and actually want to try to fix the mistakes I make now instead of just finishing a drawing and going "Whatever, it's done, I don't care" But the problem now is that I never finish anything because I spend so much time trying to make sure the drawings are right and then lose interest.

I just wanted to draw a picture of Kuma disappearing something because that is all he was really doing when I drew this picture. (before the Marineford war, at the Shipcoating place)

I was rushing to finish all the Shikibuchi before I went to an anime convention to offer them as a set in the art auction. There are various mistakes (his head is really flat is a main one) in the drawing where you (or maybe just me?) can tell where I was rushing. Also I have like no idea how to render value properly because I never practice basic fundamentals.

I appreciate your comment and your noticing of my attempts at trying to render motion. I just don't want to draw boring flat pictures of people standing there. Since I draw so cartoony I try to use motion lines and sound effects as advantageously as possible.

I'll probably go on a One Piece fan art binge sometime soon (especially with Dolflamingo being the main villain right now, as he is my favorite), but I wouldn't wait up because I am incredibly flaky artistically.

Thanks again, here is a smiley face for you. :*) Also a llama.

You are quite welcome, ViciousSlash. I'm glad to hear your thoughts on your material, and also that although your artwork is slow to come about, you seem to have plenty of drive to continue.

Also, since you're able to attend Cons, that must make for plenty of new inspiration and ideas for your work, or at least a familiarity of how the rendering and development of artwork works in that crazy, amusing landscape.

Thank you also for the Llama as well. Regardless of which type of artwork and material/characters you choose to abide by, hopefully you're well-received by others as you go along.

Take care, Vicious.
