Description Over a month since the last update I humbly apologize for the hiatus, and believe me when I say I wish things were different right now.

In the game this part is called The Temple Of Seasons and you have to read four books, each for one season, and battle the customary enemies in order to reach the The Statue Of Purification.

You get a Special-Feat named Cleansing Nova, a stationary 5 foot wide pillar of light, which causes fire-damage to Undead and Outsiders. It all sounds really cool, except that it only lasts 4 seconds and the enemies have to actually walk into it.

And they wonder why Evil is winning…

Funny fact about this quest...you can lockpick the door in the trial of winter (first room) and skip all the tests...i only realised they were actually trial there on my second playthrough

In my first gameplay I tried to have Neeshka lockpick the doors, but she failed continuously. She probably wasn't of a high enough level at the time. From all the feedback I've been getting, I'm coming to realize that there are a few shortcuts in the game

They spent too much money on the trials to get to the statues, so they had little left for the blessings it would seem

I've been waiting a long time to draw the fast-food one

Leira lives!

I see the blessings still suck. Let's hope the last two are halfway decent (hoping for decent ones is asking for too much). By the way, know that there's a party member that is damaged by the Clensing Nova.

Also, is the taco a reference to Speedy Gonzales?

vick330 In reply to icanseeuuu [2011-11-06 19:27:13 +0000 UTC]

Don't worry, Leira is alive and kicking

And don;t get your hopes up regarding those blessings, I did while playing the game and still suffer from the disappointment

It's true that we wouldn't want our little Eucrasia to be caught inside that particular spell

And aye, a taco being Mexican and all, it made sense

icanseeuuu In reply to vick330 [2011-11-07 00:32:06 +0000 UTC]

During the final fight you can use your powers multiple times... as long as you can afford running around until you find the statue you want.

Know that she is not who I meant. (Hint: she seems to know a lot of things )

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

vick330 In reply to icanseeuuu [2011-11-08 01:28:00 +0000 UTC]

Know that if you mean everyone's favorite Githzerai, I did not know she could be harmed by that spell if that's what you mean

In the final fight I'm always too busy running around, hacking at the statues and if possible throwing around healing potions to keep my party alive.

Not easy when you're playing a Sorc and your weaker stat is STRENGTH

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

icanseeuuu In reply to vick330 [2011-11-08 11:36:59 +0000 UTC]

Yep! She's an outsider, so she gets burnt too. At least planetouched characters don't count as outsiders (so Neeshka and the PC are safe).

Yeah, I know what you mean. I always buy all the Heal potions I can find and give them to the party (at least 10 each) so I don't have to worry about it.

Use Construct (I think puppet mode stops him from doing anything but what you tell him to do). Or make Sand scribe you a scroll of Shapechange/Tenser's Transformation or something that gives you high Strength. Or craft a weapon that deals a lot of damage (flaming acidic adamantite sword or the like). Or all of the above.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

vick330 In reply to icanseeuuu [2011-11-09 02:02:34 +0000 UTC]

I never realized that Githzerai were actually Outsiders. Did your Zhjaeve actually got harmed by that spell

I too give heal potions, healing kits, and resurrection-wands and scrolls to party members. It happened on my first play that my Sorc got killed, but fortunately Zhjaeve resurrected him

I used a scroll of Tenser's Transformation on my 3rd play. On my 2nd play I was a Warlock, and my STR stat was reasonable

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

icanseeuuu In reply to vick330 [2011-11-10 13:16:24 +0000 UTC]

Not really. I never used the powers (because they suck ¬¬), but a very nice (if long) walkthrough pointed out that Zhjaeve was damaged by it. Here it is: [link] and here's the explanation ("Also, Zhjaeve is a githzerai and thus counts as an Outsider, meaning she is vulnerable to both Web and Nova. If you're indiscriminate in firing off your Ritual powers you could end up killing her.

You know, if that bothers you at all."
[link] )

Warlocks don't need STR, they just need their unlimited powah. Just spam Vitrolic Blast and the fight is over.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

vick330 In reply to icanseeuuu [2011-11-10 19:38:26 +0000 UTC]

Actually I like Zhjaeve, so I would feel bad killing her

And Warlocks can cast their spells as much as they want, but they do less damage than a same-level Sorc or Wiz

That time I made a Tiefling Warlock, and the hardest thing was to boost his CHAR stat. It was fun though, especially when I met Neeshka and one of the guards asked if my PC was her brother

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

icanseeuuu In reply to vick330 [2011-11-11 10:13:36 +0000 UTC]

I'm neutral towards her, so I don't mind too much either way (though I do like your version )

But Wiz/Sorc run out of spells eventually (which is bad in MotB) and Invocations don't have a DC (I think), so the only defense is a high touch AC or spell resistance.

You don't really need high Cha as long as you don't use attacks with a DC, though it's still nice have it just in case. Yeah, I remember that part.

I have a few things planned for our beloved little Githzerai, among other things she'll give Leira romantic advice

I agree that the limitation in spell-casting is annoying, but there's so many occasions to rest that it's not so bad. I am now replaying just to keep things fresh as I draw the comic, and I found a really simple cheat that allows Sorc and Wiz to cast unlimited spells per day.

It's not cheating since I played the game honestly 3 times before

As for Warlocks, it was fun but the limited spells took away part of the fun for me One of my long-term plans is to try out other classes, like Cleric, Paladin and some of the prestige classes

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

icanseeuuu In reply to vick330 [2011-11-12 13:21:28 +0000 UTC]

Romantic advice? From the alien lady with a questionable dress choice? Now I'm really curious

The only cheat I use is to give myself lots of money (not that I need it, but it comes in handy for mass crafting weapons and stuff for the party). And to level up, but only when I want to speed things up.

Any character can be fun to use. Just remember that many enemies tend to be immune to sneak attacks (stupid undead ¬¬). Arcane Scholars are nice for casters (especially sorcerers), Shadowdancers let you hide in plain sight, Druids can do melee and casting, Rangers can turn things into pincushions or chop them up with two swords... there's planty of stuff to try out. Have fun.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

vick330 In reply to icanseeuuu [2011-11-12 21:11:52 +0000 UTC]

You should be curious regarding romantic advice from Zhjaeve

Aye, I also use those cheats by using the Debug Mode, but the unlimited spells cheat requires modifying the nwn2 player file. It's actually really easy by using the NwN2 Toolkit

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

icanseeuuu In reply to vick330 [2011-11-13 13:40:40 +0000 UTC]

I never tried the unlimited spells one. And now I won't. The toolkit hates me.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

vick330 In reply to icanseeuuu [2011-11-13 18:07:18 +0000 UTC]

Try these instructions at the NwN2 Vault. Download the PDF, it contains easy to follow, illustrated instructions on how to give spellcasters unlimited spells --> [link]

The good thing about this, is that it's really easy to revert to the normal settings if you change your mind or make a mistake.

If you try this with Safiya in MotB, remember that she is not a regular Wiz, so her class (Red Wizard I think) has to be modified. Safiya with a lot of firepower is really fun

Oh god. The Temple of Seasonings is absolutely hilarious idea considering what you find in the game.

The trend of weak-sauce blessings continues... and yes, an easy fix to make the blessings, all of them, a lot more useful would've been to increase the duration accordingly. Damn you lazy devs.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

vick330 In reply to Jarwy82 [2011-11-06 19:28:59 +0000 UTC]

Too bad they used all the sauce on the temple, and none on the blessings

I guess the devs wanted to keep things challenging, but in my case it only made them aggravating

And that's how this comic as born
