Not much to say about this. It's pretty straight foward.

Dead Space is owned by EA.

The REAL question is......would necromorphs SURVIVE a blast from the Halo Rings? because the Rings basically wipe out ALL intellegent life capable of being infected by the Flood. But that raises another question.....CAN the Flood infect Necromorphs and if so.....can they infect Brethern Moons? If the answer is yes: BEND THE FUCK OVER NECROS. If not........WHELP. GREAT KNOWIN YA GRAVEY!

Wonder what would happen if the Flood attacked the necromorphs...or they fired a Halo ring on a Marker.  The Bretheren Moon wouldn't stand a chance against a Halo burst, but the Markers are a completely unknown quantity.

Flood can connect to human-like intellect, can use advanced technology, the gravemind can exceed sizes of planets, and operates in a hive mind.

Necromorphs adjust to their habitat, operate in a hive mind, surpass human and alien intellect, run on a Marker signal that makes them borderline immortal while making other species go crazy and/or worship the Marker, and ultimately convergence creates moons-sized entities that operate in unison too while possessing tremendous psychic power that can warp the minds of hundreds from several light-years away while apparently moving at light speeds too.

Bend over and take it, Flood.

Flood would win, necros are scary as hell but have very little ranged attacks, the gravemind can become larger than a planet and can sustain life in it, the flood can also use vehicles and all bodies assimilated give their memories and experiences to the gravemind which then shares it in a hive mind state to the rest of the flood. Which means they have field tactics. And if a flood can infect a necro or the other way around...well image that monstracity

There is the Hive-Mind the Necros have as well. Granted, they aren't as good in the open as flood, but if there are any vents, necros win on an human to alien battle. I wonder if they were put together, what would happen.. Necro flood! EHK!!!

I don't think so. You'd need Chuck Norris in there do destroy one if Isaac Clarke ain't there.

I don't think the necros could get through Chief's armor. Although they might could get the joints or something. Unless the acid spewing one in DS2 wears the armor down first. Not sure if his shield would stop that or not since it's not really a projectile

Flood and Necro are both hive-minded and can coalesce into planet sized masses of dead tissue, but I think Necros are scarier.

DolphinSilverwolf In reply to DyskoDelThunderback [2015-07-02 10:02:27 +0000 UTC]

Scarier still is how easily the combined force of John-117 and Isaac Clarke could beat them both.  You have Clarke, the marker killer, going inside the marker software and crashing it...while John would fire the Halo ring at low power.  That's right, low power...as in, not enough to wipe out everything, but just enough to either destroy massively huge organisms or localize the pulse effect.  And now also factor in Isaac's technical mind with Chief's tactical mind.

Rescue and vaccinate all uninfected humans (and yeah, there's the possibility of an anti-flood vaccine in First Strike), let the Flood have it out with the Markerfucked...then do what Master Chief did on the ark.  Draw them all in, then fire a Halo ring.

DyskoDelThunderback In reply to DolphinSilverwolf [2015-07-07 01:01:16 +0000 UTC]

You have to wonder, though, could the Markers mess with Chief? We wanted to think Carver-- also tactically minded and battle hardened-- would be immune to it, but as we saw, the Marker dug up his own personal demons and twisted them against him. And as much as I love Isaac Clarke, do we really think that he could stop an insane-- or worse, a necromorphized(?)-- Chief...?

I think Chief would have Cortana to keep him stabilized.  I don't think a marker signal would work on her.

DolphinSilverwolf In reply to DyskoDelThunderback [2015-07-21 08:29:17 +0000 UTC]

Not really.  The Dead Space delusion?  Well I chalked that up to Isaac only having half of the message from Nicole.  Kendra let him get messed up by jamming the last bit.  In Dead Space 2, he was insightful and lucid, able to recognize a hallucination versus reality.  Now if you played Dead Space 3 Co-Op you'd see my point.

I found that when markers are involved there are two populations...marker-immune and marker-suceptible.  Marker-immune people are a small part of the population.  (I'll have to re-read Dead Space: Martyr, but I think Michael Altman was Marker-immune.)  Their brains just filter out the signal.  (Kinda like Ellie.)

Marker-suceptible people are affected based on their cognitive makeup, and are classified based on how connected they are to reality.  There are the "delusionals."  At best, these are the ones who draw the marker symbols over and over and not make sense of the marker "software," but gain a frightening grasp on what the markers and brethren moons want.  Sometimes these delusionals will follow the instructions of dead friends or family and do so blindly, even trying to follow a hallucination through a hull and into space.  The other class is the "analytic," which has a connection to reality.

A high-level Marker interaction separates the delusional from the analytic.  A delusional will simply crash immediately and suicide (some instances are in Dead Space 1).  An analytic will put up a fight and have a chance at winning.

In Halo 3, John had his own mindfucks, some accountable (Cortana's remnant software) and some really off-the-wall (the Gravemind hitting his neural implant).

If S-117, Clarke, and Carver ever met up, Clarke would give John the rundown on how to take down necromorphs, and in the face of Marker mind-rape, Chief would hold his own...then try to recruit Clarke and Carver to become SPARTANs.  As for the brethren moons...

You called me, Spartan?
I need the aid of a fleet of Sangheli vessels.  You remember that surface burn pattern you used to glass UNSC worlds?  We need that kind of fire directed at some planet-sized biological threats.  Sending information now.
I do regret what happened when I followed the false Prophets and...*pause, scrutinizing the data* by the Forerunners...
Those moons?  The life on them?  Consider them flood cubed.  Planet-sized predators.  What's more, the double-helix artifacts tend to carry, copy, and spread the contagion.
Are you ready to save the universe again?
Just doing my job.

DolphinSilverwolf In reply to thebroarthur2 [2015-07-02 10:09:39 +0000 UTC]

Chief is a SPARTAN.  He'd last long enough to figure it out and turn the tide, even without the MJOLNIR powered armor suit.  He also has a high level of mental discipline, enough to resist the Marker's mind-screw effects.  Isaac is an unaugmented human with the kind of awesome that MSGT Avery Johnson had.  Put the two of them together, and they'll make shit happen.

If you want a completely unbeatable team, add in the Arbiter.  That Elite has a helluva lot of insight, plenty to see the truth of things.  Highly resistant against Marker-based mindfuckery.

And if they recaptured the Ishimura, with all those gravity tethers that they can use to throw Brethren Moons into each other (a la the Tau Volantis weapon), then the galaxy might just have a chance.

He would know real from not real.  A SPARTAN's neural architecture is somewhat augmented in order to make them think and react faster.  I would have to guess that if a Marker could affect a SPARTAN, it would more than likely end up making another marker-killer.

The Thing is a living construct, but is susceptible to massive tissue damage. Hit it with enough heat or a corrosive attack, it'll die and stay dead.  However, with a marker signal in play, the leftovers from the Thing could reanimate as a necromorph.

flood vs necromorphs
-how they infect-
*flood: they infect through the use of infection forms or flood spore
its a fact that a single flood spore can actually cause a large infestation, throughout the halo universe that involves the flood, marines and other victims turned into flood forms after inhaling flood spores (usually in flood infested areas)
*necromorphs: they infect through the markers signal on corpses or through infectors. infectors... well infect, the marker however causes victims to kill other victims to create corpses. those corpses are then turned into necromorphs (due to the markers influence) because of this a necromorph infestation can happen in an instant. the only to stop this is to destroy the source... the marker
-style of combat-
*flood: flood uses other flood forms to kill or assimilate its targets, they come in other variations. so far the only forms we know to date is:
combat forms
infections forms
carrier forms
pure forms
and the most intelligent of them all
gravemind (proto-gravemind is the brainform... they are used to pilot ships if needed)
the flood is also known for their intelligence to use techs from the victims respective race, like guns, ships, and even vehicles. This makes the flood a deadly foe, so deadly the forerunners had a hard time even though they had all that technology, this gave the flood some advantage on the forerunners
*Necromorphs: Just like the flood, they use other forms of infection to kill or assimilate their targets, its a known fact that necromorphs are more "gruesome" when it comes to appearance. there are so far a lot of variations of necromorphs but I will just give you the basic ones:
slashers
Lurkers
Leapers
Drag tentacle
and pregnant
the most common necromorph are slashers, like its name they slash foes through their blade-like hands that has sprouted out from the victims shoulders or the palms of their hands (depending on gender) a sub type of a slasher is a spitter they spit acid on victims to kill or slow them down.
keep in mind that just because necromorphs only kill, they also display some form of intelligence, for example they are able to play dead to fool victims, they can also use ventilation shafts to travel around faster and surprise victim, the most deadliest is thei animal like instincs... the hunt you down and by hunt stalk you till they get a chance to kill you, so watch your backs.
-leader castes-
*flood: the most intelligent form of the flood is a gravemind, a gravemind consist of millions or even billions of corpses
it also takes the knowledge and memories of those victims
when a gravemind dies and a new one is made it will inherent the memories and knowledge of a previous gravemind, this makes the gravemind possibly the most intelligent creature in the halo galaxy. the gravemind is also known to command the entire flood army, even it wanted to, it can speak through the the flood forms (as seen in halo 3)
*necromorph: the highest intelligent of a necromorph is a hivemind, the hiveminds appearance is a look worm like body and on the mouth it has mandibles with orange glowing things, its appearance is similar to the gravemind, and both their roles are similar.
it has been speculated a hivemind could be a lot more larger then it was show in game (due to the giant hole in aeigis 7)
