I honestly love the theory and i think it really makes sense! I mean, first of all, murderers don't appear from one day to another. one does not simply wake up and say "i'm a psychopath from now on". there had to be some sort of trigger and considering FNaF4 was planned to be the last game, it would be good for scott to actually show why PG did what he did.
I actually think that maybe the crying child was PG's only son and the brother was his step-son. This would explain why the brother is mean to him (imagine that for your brother to be born, your parents had to get divorced or your dad had to die). if he were to be his step son, that could lead PG to liking him less and to actually be willing to kill him if his own son died because of him. that would also explain why the brothers are so different (i honestly could not tell they were brothers until night 5 minigame where he said it). well, even if the kids he killed were not the brother and the friends, he would have still gotten very emotionally unstable because of that.
well, it's also possible that PG and the child were close friends (like a father and son way). in this case, PG would have no reason to actually like the brother or his friends, in fact it would make it much easier to hate him even before the incident.
the silver eyes hasn't really proven this wrong. the crying child in fnaf4 or any of the incidents in the minigames were not mentioned at all (in fact, apparently they either never happened or everyone forgot about those) it's also (sort of) a separate story from the games (there are many parts that don't fit in with what the games showed). there is some crossover here and there, but the book is a reimagining.

The story IS very confusing indeed!
I honestly think fnaf4's location is FFD since they got fredbear. I really don't know. well, but as scott said, the games and the book don't fit in like puzzle pieces. William's death was very different in the book than in the game, the murders were in 1985 too. those are not the only differences.
but i guess it is possible that the kid's death made him jealous of henry and/or emotionally unstable (PG and the kid could have been just close friends. they don't necessarily have to be father and son). again, serial killers don't just decide to become serial killers out of the blue. they got to have some motivation.

And then you read the theories that it's all a dream and that makes me want to just throw my laptop out a window. xD
