I forgot this: While we're on the topic of problematic language, the "Twinky" pattern uses the slur "gypsy" for Romani. It's okay if you don't want to use the patterns that use problematic language, but if you do, would a short warning behind the link be okay? I don't want someone to stumble over a slur by doing something as harmless as looking for a nice doll sewing pattern to use.

I don't know of any offhand, but you could reasonably just size up a smaller pattern. The only caveat is that if you wanted it to stand up on its own it will need some kind of internal "skeleton" of wood, plastic pipes or wire, similar to a taxidermy mount.

That's a good idea. Fwiw, When I've made super-big plushes, I find it useful to stuff the head with low-loft stuffing and pack it in good, then sew a muslin barrier inside the neck area to keep it in, otherwise the stuffing will shift around too much.

I think most folks learned like I did, and you describe, by back-engineering from finished patterns. I've actually been working on a book that describes how to design patterns but it's far from finished at this point. There aren't many tutorials online for general pattern making. While-She-Naps has a good series on different aspects of pattern design: whileshenaps.com/category/sew-…

Here on DA has some excellent guides

I've also used these books, which are long out of print but still full of good info:

I have never seen a pattern for one online - your best bet would probably be to ask someone who's made one for permission to use their pattern, or to commission someone to draft a pattern for you.
