another picture from that fog day..May 26 2006...
the bg is where the lake is and on that day it was that white!...as if the backdrop of a city was completely wiped out...the backdrop of my life was perfectly aligned. So was the old guy w/ the cane...

I've loved this shot from when I first saw it back in August or something, the way the color is all "monotonish" (I lack the lingo) except for the streetlight with it's happy shine.
I can't analyze why I like it, except it has a great mood. It is a great capture.
It feels positive, despite being "dreary".

I like the simplicity and the composition in this picture.. just the way i like it

yes, this definitely only works as a color shot. i love the simplicity and composition, but most of all i love the colors, 'cause they're my aesthetic. the feel to it is very solitary and cold, which is another aspect i am drawn towards in any piece. i think what's appealing about the fog is it gives the photo a sense of being a watercolor but in real life.

I love the lonesome vibe of the picture. The sole latern, the sole man walking marching onwards. It's so powerful and overwhelming. Brilliant shot mate.

Whether manufactured or serendipitous, the walker's stoop and the lone spot of color on the lamp post make this shot for me. Too often photographers use black and white to make otherwise mundane pictures seem interseting. It's far preferable to let nature choose the colors that best reflect its tale.

the old man walked like everything is oblivious to his thought...
i tried black and white...but then i wanted to bring out the contrast of the light so i left it in color...the whole picture is as monochrome as it can be...
