Description the rebellious kid! actually they are my cousins. They're brother and sister. The brother is 9 years old and the sister is 7. The first time I went back the brother was only a year old. He was still cute then...now he's an annoying kid...but still cute. The sister is the cutest little 7 years old.

anyways, this was shot on the rice field. Just recently they built the dam along the rice field to aid the watering of the crop and help drain the water if there is a flood.

location: ninh hoa, khanh hoa, Viet Nam.

farm life is definately the way it was meant to be... despite the additional labor, the evironmental impact is musch less (even beneficial), you can watch the fruit of your labors and feel a sense of accomplishment... you can eat the fruit of your labor and it's much more peaceful... less noise and hub-bub....

reminds me of when I spent a year in Korea... although I must say that most of the rice fields there aren't far from high-rise apartments... and seeing the small houses in the distance with the trees is very refreshing

the sunrises were the best.... winter had some good ops too, there were a lot of photo opportunities i missed would be great to have a waterproof camera during the first 2 weeks of spring when everything is flowering... but definately the best is last 2 weeks of fall, along the east coast in the mountains/near the sea...

maybe i'll get a second shot

The composition in this is damn near perfect following all the rules of thirds and leading lines that bring my eye around the image.

thats a powerful image, Kat. The lines of the field, and showing the siblings and family bonding is quite wonderful.. the touch in black and white is a great touch too!
