with some of my favourite songs I have no idea what the lyrics are, I just like the shapes the sounds make. A bit like the words in the picture, its the shapes, the effect that works.

Yes, that's a good way of putting it. I've been listening to Alt-J a lot recently, and they use lyrics very much like that I think.
