Yes, it is sad. I painted this a long while ago, when there were constant stories about pitbulls in the papers. Don't seem to hear so much about it now - certainly in England the emphasis seems to be on the poor Staffordshire bull terrier instead as being the bad guy.

I know, in America it's bad too. McDonald's has even gone as far as to forbid Pitbulls on their property. Also, we have a problem targeting dogs that LOOK like Pitbulls rather than Pitbulls themselves. Even though targeting Pitbulls is wrong...

It's a crazy world, and the poor Pitbull is the one getting a lot of blame...

Now, I'm from Michigan. There's still a lot of crappy Pitbull rules here, and a lot of discrimination.
