It´s been two years since Orion and Mage last competed together. Two years of recovering from that accident in the woods. It would have been advisable to start small and get back to their level by simpler steps. But that wasn´t their way. No, Mage lived for the challenge and the thrill. And Orion wouldn´t dare disappoint his companion. And so he signed them up from the most prestigious show currently. Sky and Sea International.
And so, they found themselves traveling to the other end of the world, from Wales to Australia. The flight went as smoothly as flights with horses could. They arrived a few days early, and so had time to get used to the time. Thankfully for Orion and his Canadian disposition, the weather was not too hot this time of the year. As the days passed, more people arrived. Some of them he already knew, and they asked about his absence from the show circle, or congratulated his friends on their achievements.
Now it was time to finally enter the ring. The first phase was the first class of the whole show, and quite the crowd has gathered. Orion suspected it would only keep growing throughout the day. The rain left the sand wet and slippery, but nothing they couldn´t handle. Sarika was giving him some tips, as she had to deal with a similar situation last year during her 3DE show in Tuscany. Mud was their friend, nothing they haven´t encountered before. And even tho the jumps were pretty high, they did not manage to intimidate them in the slightest.
The bell rang. Mage snorted and went into a smooth gallop. The course was long and complicated, with many tight turns and close combinations. Yet Mage cleared them without any difficulty, flying over each jump with joy. They both missed this. And before they realized, they cleared the last jump and the course was over. Orion glanced at the time, surprised.
First day of their return was a success.
