Oh my god, I have never heard of this type of artwork before...WHY HAVE I NOT HEARD OF THIS BEFORE?
This is GORGEOUS!!! It's so interesting to look at! The movement of the piece, the intriguing lines, the bright, almost alien color--the whole thing looks VERY cool. Good work!

Personally I'd say it's a painting To take the dictionary definition (from our handy pal dictionary.com) it is "a) A liquid mixture, usually of a solid pigment in a liquid vehicle, used as a decorative or protective coating. b) The thin dry film formed by such a mixture when applied to a surface" Which applies to wax; when wax is melted, it forms a liquid, and once applied to paper it dries and creates a "thin film" over the surface, both which agrees to this definition. A drawing is a less specific term, to take the dictionary again "The art of representing objects or forms on a surface chiefly by means of lines." So although listing it as a drawing is correct, to call it a painting would be more accurate X3' Like saying North America is land as opposed to saying it's a continent in the north hemisphere.
As to this picture, it was good that you used this black background X3 It came out with interesting effects no? It affects the colours in a very stylised way, which has given a rather strong mood to this. ^^ I love the composition, the slightly angle of the landscape which suggests a certain surreality, the sweeping twisting skys, the harsh yet beautiful landscape of, as you said, frosty-looking mountains, the vegetation which looks rather wet and pondscum like, and this piercing reaching tree. The water is also very beautiful, the subtleties of the reflection really working well for it. In brief; every single element is beautiful, yet they all work together as a whole to create this striking piece.
A most excellent work of art X3 It's a definite fav-with-love from me ^^

Beautiful. I remember doing things like this on rocks when I was younger. XD Anyway, you truly captured that cold, hard, dank feeling ice appears to generate. The frosted mountains themselves look like vicious glaciers, and the reflection gives off an eerie feel. The tree and plants towards the front were also a nice touch, and the sky looks like it's from another dimension... Yet it still looks like a sky. Truely masturful usage of the wax, and a great scene to boot. You've definately got talent. n.n *favefaves*
