BIG VIEW to see the details

Just some little Pengiuns parading accros the icy planes of the polar reagion they live in after their fishing trip to the ocean.
Now full with fish they wadle home to reach their nests and mates as the sun sets

Traditional Encaustic Wax-Art
------------------------------------
Technique = Enaustic Waxart
Tools = Lithe Iron for applying the wax
Tools = Knife + knitting needles as scarping tools
Colors = wax Hobbyline + Stockmar colored beewax blocks
Colors = Black non soluble Edding Marker
Paper = special glossy printerpaper card
Original Size = A6 (postcard size)
Time to draw it = about 3 hours

The Sky and ice I've made as usual by applying hot molten liquid wax with an iron to the surface of a white postcard.

By applying und distributing drops of black wax with the tip of the iron I created the penguins.

After hardening of all the wax I set to work on the finer details of the penguins. By using a small pointed kitchen knive and + knitting needles I scratched and lifted away parts of the hardened black wax to reveal the white plain paper surfice beneath. This way I worked out the white chest and eyes of the birdies.

Small errors on the pinguins I covered up by using black non soluble Edding Marker.

Was a lot of fun !
